- El cargol pentalobular (en anglès i segons la nomenclatura d'Apple Inc. pentalobe security screw) és un tipus de cargol de seguretat, és a dir, un cargol dissenyat per dificultar la seva manipulació per personal aliè. En concret es requereix un tornavís específic (pentalobular) i poc comú per estrènyer o afluixar aquests cargols. El nom d'aquest cargol fa referència al buit en forma d'estrella de cinc lòbuls present en el seu cap destinat a encaixar l'eina d'estrènyer. Aquest buit al cap del cargol pentalobular és similar al d'un cargol Torx, però el buit dels cargols Torx té 6 puntes i el dels cargols pentalobulars 5 lòbuls, la qual cosa fa que les eines de tots dos sistemes no siguin intercanviables. En concreto se requiere un destornillador específico (pentalobular) y poco común para apretar o aflojar estos tornillos. El nombre de este tornillo hace referencia al hueco en forma de estrella de cinco lóbulos presente en su cabeza destinado a encajar la herramienta de apriete. Este hueco en la cabeza del tornillo pentalobular es similar al de un tornillo Torx, pero el hueco de los tornillos Torx tiene 6 puntas y el de los tornillos pentalobulares 5 lóbulos, lo cual hace que las herramientas de ambos sistemas no sean intercambiables. Pentalobe screws were adopted by Apple starting in 2009, when they were first implemented in the 15-inch MacBook Pro. They have since been used on other MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iPhone models. Apple attracted criticism upon the introduction of the pentalobe screw; it was seen by some as an attempt to lock individuals out of their devices. In response, inexpensive pentalobe screwdrivers, manufactured by third parties, have become relatively easy to obtain. Pentalobe screw sizes include TS1 (0.8 mm, used on every iPhone starting with the iPhone 4), TS4 (1.2 mm, used on the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro with Retina display), and TS5 (1.5 mm, used on the 2009 MacBook Pro battery).
