- El torneig d'escacs Pearl Spring (en xinès: 中国(南京)国际象棋超级大赛) fou un torneig d'escacs jugat per sistema round robin a doble ronda, al qual hi participaven sis super-Grans Mestres i que se celebrava a Nanquín, Xina. El nom del torneig es refereix a l'Hotel Mingfa Pearl Spring localitzat al districte de Pukou de Nanquín. La primera edició, el desembre de 2008, la va guanyar Vesselín Topàlov. Segons el web ChessVibes, Sílvio Danaílov - mànager i entrenador de Topàlov - va dir que aquest torneig "estava garantit per cinc anys i entraria al Grand Slam [el 2009]." El segon i tercer torneigs, el 2009 i 2010 foren ambdós guanyats per Magnus Carlsen, i a més a més la primera victòria fou una de les millors performances de la història dels escacs. - The Pearl Spring Chess Tournament (simplified Chinese: 中国（南京）国际象棋超级大赛; traditional Chinese: 中國（南京）國際象棋超級大賽; pinyin: Zhōngguó（Nánjīng）guójì xiàngqí chāojí dà sài) was a double round robin chess tournament event featuring six super-GM players that took place in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. The first edition in December 2008 was won by Veselin Topalov. According to ChessVibes website, Silvio Danailov - the manager and coach of Topalov - said the Pearl Spring tournament has been "guaranteed for five years and will enter in Grand Slam [in 2009]." The second and third tournaments in 2009 and 2010 were both won by Magnus Carlsen, with his first win being rated as one of the best performances in chess history. Together with Corus Chess Tournament in the Netherlands, Linares Chess Tournament in Spain, M-Tel Masters in Bulgaria, and Grand Slam Masters Final in Spain, Nanjing Pearl Spring Chess Tournament became one of the five Grand Slam Tournaments in the world. Disputé sous la forme d'un tournoi à deux tours entre six joueurs, il atteignait la catégorie 21. Aussi appelé le tournoi Pearl Spring ((en) Pearl Spring Chess Tournament) du nom de l'hôtel Mingfa Pearl Spring situé dans le district de Pukou de Nankin où avait lieu la compétition, ce tournoi faisait partie des tournois du grand chelem d'échecs.
