- Ojfn pripečik (v jidiš אױפן פּריפּעטשיק, V kamnech) je píseň v jazyce jidiš složená (1848–1907). V písni se zpívá o rabínovi, učícím děti hebrejskou abecedu. Od svého vzniku na konci 19. století je to jedna z nejpopulárnějších písní Židů, mluvících jidiš. Stala se symbolem židovského světa před holocaustem.Čtvrtá sloka vnáší do písně tragický patos: „Až, děti, vyrostete, / samy pochopíte / kolik slz je v těchto písmenech / a kolik pláče.“ Vychází to z tradičního jidiš úsloví, že „židovské dějiny jsou psány slzami“ Píseň byla mimo jiné použita ve filmu Schindlerův seznam. The song is about a rabbi teaching his young students the aleph-bet. By the end of the 19th century it was one of the most popular songs of the Jews of Central and Eastern Europe, and as such it is a major musical memory of pre-Holocaust Europe. The song is still sung in Jewish kindergartens. The fourth stanza introduces tragic pathos into the song: "When, children, you will grow older / You will understand / How many tears lie in these letters / And how much crying." The lyrics hint at the traditional Yiddish saying that "The history of the Jews is written in tears". (en)

Capturant tant un moment-clé de l’éducation juive traditionnelle — alors même que le heder perd son monopole au profit des écoles modernes — qu’une scène de vie typique des Juifs d’Europe de l’Est au XIXe siècle, la chanson trouve rapidement son public. Elle évoque avec douceur et nostalgie les premiers moments de l’apprentissage de la Torah suivant une méthode de simple répétition, avant de se faire plus sombre en rappelant « combien de larmes se trouvent dans ces lettres et combien de pleurs » faisant ainsi référence au dicton « l’histoire des Juifs est écrite dans les larmes ». Het lied is geschreven aan het eind van de 19e eeuw en is een belangrijke herinnering van de joodse muzikale wereld voor de holocaust. Willem Wilmink nam het lied als aanleiding voor zijn gedicht De rebbe leert de kinderen schrijven, dat hij de ondertitel meegaf: "mijn herinnering aan een Jiddisch liedje" . Hoewel het gedicht vaak als vertaling wordt bestempeld. is het dat gezien de ondertiel volgens Wilmink zelf beslist niet. Wilminks gedicht is verschillende malen uitgevoerd, onder andere door Wende.
