- انحلال العظم (بالإنجليزية: Osteolysis) هو تحلُّل نشط لقالب العظم من قبل ناقضة العظم (أوستيوكلاست أو هادمة العظم) أثناء التكوُّن الطبيعي لعظام صحية. يمكن اعتبار انحلال العظم كعملية منعكسة لتكوينه. عادة ما يحدث هذا الانحلال في الجزء القريب من العضو الصناعي إمّا بسبب استجابة مناعية أو تغّيرات في الحمولة الهيكلية للعظم. وقد تؤدي بعض الأمراض لانحلال العظم مثل: ورم العظم، الأكياس، والالتهاب المزمن. - Die Osteolyse (altgriechisch ὀστέον ostéon, deutsch ‚Knochen‘ und λύσις lýsis ‚Auflösung‘) bezeichnet allgemein einen Knochenabbau. Damit kann einerseits der Knochenabbau auf zellulärer Ebene bezeichnet werden, wie er im Rahmen des physiologischen Knochenumbaus beständig im Knochenstoffwechsel erfolgt, andererseits ein überschießender Knochenabbau im Rahmen eines pathologischen Knochenumbaus bezeichnet werden. Zum anderen bezeichnet besonders in der Radiologie und Onkologie eine umschriebene Osteolyse einen lokalen Knochendefekt mit komplettem Verlust der Knochensubstanz innerhalb des Defektes. (de)

- Osteolysis is an active resorption of bone matrix by osteoclasts and can be interpreted as the reverse of ossification. Although osteoclasts are active during the natural formation of healthy bone the term "osteolysis" specifically refers to a pathological process. Osteolysis often occurs in the proximity of a prosthesis that causes either an immunological response or changes in the bone's structural load. Osteolysis may also be caused by pathologies like bone tumors, cysts, or chronic inflammation. (en)
- Osteólise (grego antigo para ruptura óssea) se refere a uma reabsorção de parte do tecido ósseo por células especializadas (osteoclastos), o contrário de ossificação por osteoblastos. Este termo pode ser empregado tanto na descrição de doenças que acometem os tecidos ósseos, mas também pode descrever o processo metabólico normal de manutenção do tecido ósseo, que como o resto do organismo, está em constante remodelação. Geralmente é assintomática, apenas deixando os ossos mais vulneráveis a fraturas. Na radiografia caracteriza-se por imagens radilolucidas e na tomografia por imagens hipodensas. (pt)
