- Die Oroko sind ein westafrikanisches Volk innerhalb der Bantu-Völker in Kamerun. Mit circa 168.000 Angehörigen (Stand Jahr 2000) bilden die Oroko ungefähr 2/3 der Bevölkerung in den Bezirken Meme und Ndian in der Provinz Sud-Ouest. Das Siedlungsgebiet der Oroko umfasst das Bafaka Balue-Hochland, die Rumpiberge, das Flachland zwischen den Bakossi-Bergen und dem Kamerunberg westlich des Mungo Rivers und im Norden dehnt sich ihr Siedlungsgebiet über den Korup-Nationalpark bis zur nigerianischen Grenze und dem Bamenda-Hochland aus. Östlich der Oroko siedeln die Bakossi, südwestlich die Duala. Das Volk der Oroko setzt sich aus 10 Clans zusammen, die alle einen eigenen Dialekt der ebenfalls Oroko genannten Sprache sprechen. The Oroko are related to several ethnic groups (or tribes) in Cameroon's coastal areas, with whom they share a common traditional origin, and similar histories and cultures. These include the Bakweri (Kwe), Bakole, Duala, Ewodi, the Bodiman, the , the Bamboko, the Isubu (Isuwu or Bimbians), the Limba (or Malimba), the Mungo, and the Wovea. (en)

On distingue 10 sous-groupes ou clans : les Balondo Ba Diko (3 villages), les Balondo Ba Nanga (15 villages), les Balue (27 villages), les Batanga (26 villages), les Bima (19 villages), les Ekombe (12 villages) les Mbonge (43 villages), les Bakoko (3 villages), les Ngolo (36 villages), les Bakundu (36 villages).
