- Old Sundanese (Sundanese script: ᮘᮞ ᮞᮥᮔ᮪ᮓ ᮘᮥᮠᮥᮔ᮪, Old Sundanese script: , Buda script: , Sundanese Alphabet: Basa Sunda Buhun) is the earliest recorded stage of the Sundanese language which is spoken in the western part of Java. The evidence is recorded in inscriptions from around the 12th to 14th centuries and ancient palm-leaf manuscripts from the 15th to 17th centuries AD. Old Sundanese is no longer used today, but has developed into its descendant, modern Sundanese. (en)
- Bahasa Sunda Kuno adalah tahap pendahulu dari apa yang sekarang dikenal sebagai bahasa Sunda beserta segala variannya yang diketahui pernah dituturkan dan tercatat pada prasasti dan naskah-naskah lontar kuno di wilayah pulau Jawa bagian barat. Bahasa ini sudah tidak digunakan di masa sekarang, tetapi masih memiliki kaitan dekat dengan bahasa Sunda modern. Bukti tertua penggunaan bahasa Sunda Kuno adalah prasasti Rumatak tahun 1111 Masehi yang ditemukan di Tasikmalaya, Jawa Barat, selain itu, ada pula sekumpulan prasasti tanpa candrasangkala yang ditemukan di Ciamis, tepatnya Kawali bernama prasasti Astana Gede yang diperkirakan dibuat pada sekitar abad ke-14.
