- الصابون النابلسي هو نوع من الصابون تشتهر مدينة نابلس بفلسطين بصناعته منذ القدم. مكونه الرئيسي هو زيت الزيتون البكر (المنتج الزراعي الرئيسي في المنطقة)، ويتميز عن غيره من الأنواع الشهيرة الأخرى مثل: الصابون الحلبي والطرابلسي بلونه الأبيض. حيث يحضر من زيت الزيتون والصودا الكاوية، ويتم طبخه على نار حامية وصبه على الأرض، ثم يتم تقطيعه يدوياً ويكاد لا يملك أي رائحة. يرجع تاريخ صناعة الصابون في نابلس إلى القرن العاشر الميلادي، في عام 1907م كان هناك 30 مصنع للصابون النابلسي في المدينة يقومون بتوريد نصف احتياجات فلسطين من الصابون. تدهورت صناعته خلال منتصف القرن العشرين إثر الدمار الناجم عن زلزال عام 1927م بالإضافة إلى الاحتلال الإسرائيلي. واعتباراً من عام 2008 لم يتبقَ من هذه المصانع في نابلس سوى مصنعين فقط. من بينهم مصنع عرفات القديم للصابون الذي تحول إلى مركز إحياء وتنمية التراث الثقافي. El producto final es de color marfil y casi no tiene olor. Tradicionalmente fabricado por mujeres para uso doméstico, se había convertido en una industria importante para Nablus en el siglo XIV. En 1907, las 30 fábricas de jabón Nabulsi suministraban la mitad del jabón de Palestina. La industria declinó a mediados del siglo XX tras la destrucción causada por el terremoto de Jericó de 1927 y la posterior interrupción de la ocupación militar israelí. Traditionally made by women for household use, it had become a significant industry for Nablus by the 14th century. In 1907 the city's 30 Nabulsi soap factories were supplying half the soap in Palestine. The industry declined during the mid-20th century following the destruction caused by the 1927 Jericho earthquake and later disruption from the Israeli military occupation. As of 2008, only two soap factories survive in Nablus. The old Arafat soap factory has been turned into a Cultural Heritage Enrichment Center. (en)
