La comédie musicale s'est jouée du 2 octobre 1999 au 7 mai 2001, au Theater an der Wien à Vienne puis en tournée en Allemagne, à Hambourg. Le spectacle s'attarde sur les combats que le célèbre compositeur Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart a dû mener pour imposer sa musique, ainsi que sa lutte avec ses propres démons. Mozart! a été un franc succès, cumulant 419 représentations à Vienne et pas moins de 420 000 spectateurs. (fr)

The show is a new imagining of the struggles of the famous composer. The original production was directed by the opera director Harry Kupfer. It premiered on October 2, 1999, in the Theater an der Wien, and the final performance was on 7 May 2001. It ran for 419 performances, showing to approximately 420,000 patrons. (en)
