- محمد بنيـس شاعر مغربي، ولد سنة 1948 في مدينة فاس، وأحد أهم شعراء الحداثة في العالم العربي. يتمتع بمكانة مميزة في الثقافة العربية، منذ الثمانينيات حتى اليوم، ويساهم بحيوية في الحداثة الشعرية على المستويين العربي والدولي. ذلك ما أوضحه الشاعر قاسم حداد، حينما كتب: «سأرى إلى محمد بنيس الشاعر وهو ينزاح بشعريته عن النص ليصوغ لتجربته الآفاق المتصلة بالحياة منطلقاً من المغرب، عابراً مشرق العرب، متوغلا في الحلم الكوني الذي لا يختلف عن الشعر إلا في الدرجة.». كما أن اتساع تجربته الشعرية وعمقها هما ما دعا الشاعر الفرنسي برنار نويل ليكتب: «إلى جانب أدونيس ومحمود درويش، أنشأ محمد بنيس عملاً لا يدين فيه إلا للبحث الصبور عن أصالته الخاصة ليصبح نموذجاً داخل اللغة العربية، وقد أصبح الآن يحمل مستقبلا هو ما يجعل منه عملاً تأسيسياً.». - Mohammed Bennis (Arabic: محمد بنيس; born 1948) is a Moroccan poet and one of the most prominent writers of modern Arabic poetry. Since the 1970s, he has enjoyed a particular status within Arab culture. Muhsin J al-Musawi states that "Bennis’ articulations tend to validate his poetry in the first place, to encapsulate the overlapping and contestation of genres in a dialectic, that takes into account power politics whose tropes are special. As a discursive threshold between Arab East and the Moroccan West, tradition and modernity, and also a site of contestation and configuration, Muhammad Bennis' self-justifications may reveal another poetic predilection, too." Il participe à la modernité poétique arabe et bénéficie, depuis les années quatre-vingt, d’un statut particulier dans la culture arabe. Bernard Noël écrit à son propos : « à côté d’Adonis et de Mahmoud Darwich, Mohammed Bennis a construit une œuvre qui ne doit qu’à la recherche patiente de sa propre justesse d’être devenue exemplaire au milieu de la langue arabe. - Mohammed Bennis (Fès, 1948) è un poeta marocchino, uno dei più importanti autori della poesia araba moderna. Chevalier des arts et des lettres Francia (2002); Premio al-Uways (Dubai, 2008); Premio Max Jacob (France, 2014): Medaglia della cultura, della creazione e delle arti, Autorità Nazionale Palestinese (2017). Partecipa appassionatamente al processo di modernizzazione della poetica araba e gode, dagli anni Ottanta, di ampia fama nella cultura araba. Bernard Noël scrive di lui: «Insieme a Adunis e Mahmoud Darwish, Mohammed Bennis ha costruito un'opera che deve solo alla ricerca paziente della sua propria precisione l'essere diventata esemplare nell'ambito della lingua araba.
