- وزارة الداخلية تزامن تأسيس وزارة الداخلية مع تشكيل أول حكومة مركزية في إمارة شرق الأردن عام 1921، وارتبط اسمها على مدار العقود الماضية بعملية بناء مؤسسات الدولة الأردنية الحديثة، ومهمة حفظ الأمن والنظام العام وتوفير الخدمة المثلى للمواطنين في الحضر والريف والبادية. وواكبت وزارة الداخلية كغيرها من مؤسسات الدولة الأخرى التطور الذي شهده البلاد اجتماعياً واقتصادياً، وتفاعلت فيها الطاقات الإبداعية الأدارية والقانونية الأردنية وصولاً للشكل الأفضل للدولة الحديثة القائمة على سيادة القانون واحترام حقوق الأفراد والجماعات. واكتشبت وزارة الداخلية تسميتها في عام 1931م، وباشرت مهامها المتشعبة والواسعة بالإضافة إلى المهمة الأساسية وهي الحفاظ على الأمن والنظام العام وحماية الأرواح والممتلكات العامة والخاصة وتوفير الخدمات. - The Ministry of Interior of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (Arabic: وزارة الداخلية) is the ministry in the Government of Jordan. Established in 1921, at the time of the establishment of the Emirate of Transjordan, it is responsible for law enforcement in Jordan. On 7 March 2020, Mazin Abdellah Hilal Al Farrayeh was appointed as minister by Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh. The Ministry of Interior directs the Public Security Directorate; around 50,000 in 2016, the General Directorate of Gendarmerie, the Civil Defense Directorate and the Civil Status and Passports Department.
