- Michel Vion (* 22. Oktober 1959 in Moûtiers) ist ein ehemaliger französischer Skirennläufer. Ohne vorher einen einzigen Sieg im Skiweltcup errungen zu haben, gewann Michel Vion bei der Alpinen Skiweltmeisterschaft 1982 in Schladming die Goldmedaille in der Alpinen Kombination vor dem Schweizer Peter Lüscher. Seinen einzigen Sieg im Weltcup erreichte Vion erst 1985, als er die Kombinationswertung des Lauberhornrennens in Wengen gewann. Michel Vion war Französischer Meister 1978 im Riesenslalom, 1979 im Parallelslalom und gewann den Meistertitel in der Abfahrt 1981 und 1984. Seit dem 26. Vion became a world champion in the combined event in Schladming in 1982. He finished 5th in combined at the world championships in Bormio in 1985. Also in 1985, Vion won the "Lauberhorn Combined" World Cup Race. - Since 2010, he is the president of the French Skiing Federation. He was appointed Secretary-General of the International Ski Federation in June 2021. In 2022, Vion opposed the decision of the Norwegian Ski Federation to refuse the participation of Russian and Belarusian skiers in World Cup events during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. (en)
