- Metal Allegiance je americká heavymetalová superskupina, kterou založil v roce 2014 na Long Islandu baskytarista a skladatel . Krátce poté přibral baskytaristu Davida Ellefsona z Megadeth, kytaristu z Testament a bubeníka Mika Portnoye, bývalého člena Dream Theater. Kapela nemá oficiálního hlavního zpěváka; na studiové nahrávky a živá vystoupení si tedy najímá zpěváky a/nebo kytaristy (Andreas Kisser z kapely Sepultura, z Death Angel apod.) (cs)

Shortly after, he recruited bassist David Ellefson (formerly of Megadeth), guitarist Alex Skolnick (from Testament), and drummer Mike Portnoy (formerly of Dream Theater). Though the group does not have an official lead singer, they usually hire guest musicians to contribute vocals and/or guitar parts to their studio recordings and live shows, including Andreas Kisser of Sepultura and Mark Osegueda of Death Angel. Skład zespołu utworzyli ponadto basista Dave Ellefson, znany z występów w zespole Megadeth, perkusista Mike Portnoy, były członek grupy Dream Theater oraz gitarzysta Alex Skolnick członek formacji Testament. Debiutancki album formacji zatytułowany Metal Allegiance ukazał się 18 września 2015 roku nakładem wytwórni muzycznej Nuclear Blast. Album dotarł do 143. miejsca listy Billboard 200 w Stanach Zjednoczonych sprzedając się w nakładzie 4,6 tys. egzemplarzy w przeciągu tygodnia od dnia premiery. W pracach nad płytą uczestniczyli liczni goście w tym m.in. gitarzysta Andreas Kisser, basista Rex Brown, wokaliści Tim „Ripper” Owens, Matt Heafy i Chuck Billy oraz wokalistka Cristina Scabbia. (pl)
