- Malossi S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of tuning parts for mopeds and scooters. It was founded by Armando Malossi in 1930. Originally the company specialised in tuning Dell'orto carburettors for motorcycles. This strong association continues to this day with Malossi providing a huge array of carburettors and kits for mopeds, scooters, and motorcycles. Among other products, Malossi manufactures cylinders and variators for both racing and road use. Malossi currently produces two product lines, the Malossi and the MHR (Malossi Hyper Racing), which is exclusively for racing use. Malossi's main competitor is Polini, also based in Italy. - Malossi is een Italiaanse fabrikant van onderdelen voor 50cc-scooters en 125/180cc-motorscooters. Malossi fabriceert onder andere cilinders, uitlaten en racevariateurs. De concurrenten van Malossi zijn onder andere Polini, Hebo, Metrakit, Stage 6, Fabrizi, T.C.R. en 2F4R. Dergelijke onderdelen zijn eigenlijk bedoeld voor 50cc/70cc-wegraces, maar worden veel gebruikt door jeugd om meer vermogen uit hun scooter te halen dan legaal is in Nederland. Er zijn nu echter ook gehomologeerde onderdelen te verkrijgen van Malossi. Zo kun je dus bijvoorbeeld legaal met een Malossi uitlaat rijden. Malossi staat bekend voor kwaliteit, maar ook dure producten. De snelste 70cc-cilinder voor scooters van Malossi is de MHR Speed 7t T-versie (fabrieksgetuned). De snelste cilinder voor schakels van Malossi is de MHR Team. Voor schakelbromfietsen zijn dit de 80cc's, voor scooters de 70cc. MHR staat voor Malossi Hyper Racing, een serie speciaal voor de race-industrie. De MHR Speed-cilinder is vergelijkbaar met de Polini Evolution 70cc & Hebo Manston 2. In 2006 is er een nieuwe soort MHR Speed-cilinders uitgebracht, met zeven spoelpoorten in plaats van zes. Deze cilinder wordt daarom ook wel Speed '06 genoemd, of Speed 7T. De Speed-cilinders zijn alleen bedoeld om sprints te rijden, dus niet dagelijks mee te rijden. Sinds 2008 zijn is ook de Malossi Big Bore Cilinder op de markt.
