- Lunete (auch: Linet, Lynete, Lynette, Dame Lionesse, Lady of Lyonesse usw.) ist in der mittelalterlichen Artussage das Kammerfräulein der Laudine. Als solche klagt die den bei Hartmann Iwein (bzw. bei Chrétien Yvain) genannten Ritter am Artushof an und führt ihre Herrin und den Tafelrundenritter auf diese Weise zusammen. Im Verlaufe der aventiure muss der mittlerweile seiner Herrin entfremdete Iwein dann für Lunete einen Kampf bestreiten und wird so ein zweites und letztes Mal durch die Zofe der Laudine zugeführt. - In Arthurian legend, Lunete (also known as Luned or Lunet) is a handmaiden and advisor to the Lady of the Fountain (Laudine). It is she who is responsible for convincing Laudine to accept Ywain in marriage. She is described in Chrétien de Troyes' Yvain, the Knight of the Lion as "a charming brunette, prudent, clever and polite..." When Esclados the Red (Laudine's first husband) is mortally wounded and killed by Ywain, he finds himself trapped in Laudine's castle (Castle of Landuc near Brocéliande). Lunete offers him shelter and agrees to aid him in escaping the villagers who want to avenge their lord's death. During his escape from the castle, Ywain sees Esclados' widow and falls in love with her. Ywain, with Lunete's help, wins Laudine's hand and marries her. Lunete grows to become a close friend and confidant to the Lady of the Fountain. Ywain and the Lady of the Fountain are married for many years; but one day, Gawain arrives and reminds Ywain of his absence from his chivalric duties and from King Arthur's court. The Lady of the Fountain agrees to let him go — only if he promises to return after one year. Ywain breaks his promise and delays his return; the Lady asks her husband to leave her and never return. As a result of the separation, Lunete loses favour with her Lady, since Lunete was the one who advised Laudine to marry Ywain. Meanwhile, in court, the seneschal envies Lunete of her rising status and becoming Laudine's favourite advisor. He accuses her of treason and she is sentenced to be burnt at the stake. Ywain duels with the seneschal and his brothers and defeats them in combat; Lunete is then let free. Lunete later helps Ywain to win his wife's love back, by tricking the spouses into reconciliation. - Lunete (gallese, inglese: Luned; francese: Lunete, Lunet) è nelle leggende arturiane l'ancella, la damigella e la consigliera di Laudine (la Dama della Fontana). Viene descritta nell'opera Yvain, il cavaliere del Leone di Chrétien de Troyes come un'"affascinante brunetta, prudente, intelligente e gentile...", ed è proprio lei a convincere Laudine a sposare Yvain. Yvain uccide il marito di Laudine, Esclados, come vendetta per la sconfitta del cugino, finendo però per rimanere intrappolato nel castello di Laudine (quello di Landuc, vicino alla foresta di Brocéliande). Lunete gli offre rifugio e accetta di aiutarlo a scappare dal popolo che voleva vendicare il proprio signore. Durante la fuga, Ywain si imbatte nella vedova di Esclados e se ne innamora, riuscendola poi a sposare grazie all'aiuto di Lunete. Dopo molti anni Gawain giunge lì e ricorda a Ywain i suoi doveri verso Re Artù. Ywain parte dopo aver promesso alla sposa di tornare entro un anno. Il cavaliere non mantiene però la sua promessa e al suo ritorno la moglie gli chiede di andarsene e di non tornare mai più. A seguito di ciò, Lunete perde il suo ascendente presso la Dama. Il suo posto viene preso dal siniscalco, che l'accusa di tradimento, ordinandone quindi la condanna al rogo. Ywain per salvarla affronta allora in combattimento il siniscalco e i suoi fratelli, riuscendo a sconfiggerli. Una volta liberata, Lunete aiuta Ywain a riconquistare l'amore della Dama. (it)
