- Luis «Lucho» Alarcón (nacido Luis Alfonso Alarcón Mansilla, Puerto Natales, 23 de octubre de 1929) es un actor, director de teatro y activista chileno de gran trayectoria teatral, cinematográfica y televisiva. En 1957, Alarcón empezó a trabajar como actor de teatro participando en teatros universitarios —Universidad de Chile, Católica, Concepción, Técnica del Estado— y en compañías independientes y más tarde comenzó con su carrera como actor de cine participando en emblemáticas películas como Tres tristes tigres, El chacal de Nahueltoro, La expropiación, Julio comienza en Julio, Nadie dijo nada, Palomita blanca, Caluga o menta y Los naúfragos. En los años 1980 participó en varias telenovelas en televisión, pero ganó atención de la prensa recién en 1983 cuando encarnó al malvado Roberto Betancourt en La represa. Posteriormente, Alarcón sería etiquetado como el «actor estelar de Sabatini», refiriéndose a sus múltiples apariciones en las superproducciones de Vicente Sabatini, emitidas por Televisión Nacional de Chile, con gran éxito por su contenido social. En 1999, protagonizó junto a Claudia Di Girolamo, La fiera, que se convirtió en una telenovela elogiada y premiada, considerada parte de la época de oro de la telenovela chilena. Desde 1995 a 2008 fue parte de los elencos estables de Sabatini. Tras el éxito del mismo, Alarcón continuó con personajes importantes en cine, teatro y televisión. En 1993, fue fundamental en la creación de ChileActores, en la que se convertiría en el Presidente fundador. Por otro lado, fue el creador de la Muestra de Cine de la Patagonia, certamen desarrollado en la Cueva del Milodón. En la actualidad, es reconocido oficialmente por ser el actor con la carrera más larga del cine chileno, colaborando ocasionalmente con Raúl Ruiz, Helvio Soto, Miguel Littín, Emilio Gómez Muriel y Silvio Caiozzi. He later began his career as a cinematic actor, appearing in emblematic films such as Three Sad Tigers, Jackal of Nahueltoro, The Expropriation, Julio comienza en julio, Nadie dijo nada, Little White Dove, Caluga o menta, and The Shipwrecked. In the 1980s he had roles in several telenovelas, but gained attention in the press only in 1983 when he played the evil Roberto Betancourt in . In 1993, he was instrumental in the creation of ChileActores, of which he would become the founding President. Alarcón was labeled the "Sabatini Star Actor", referring to his many appearances in the spectacular productions of on television, which were very successful due to their social content. In 1999, he co-starred in the telenovela , starring actress Claudia di Girolamo, which became a praised and awarded soap opera. From 1995 to 2008 he was part of the stable cast of Sabatini. Through the producer's success, Alarcón continued to work with important figures in cinema, theater, and television.
