- El President del Vietnam (en vietnamita: Chủ tịch nước Việt Nam) és el cap d'Estat del Vietnam, encara que les funcions del President són sovint cerimonial. El President és responsable d'assignar el Primer Ministre i el Gabinet d'entre els membres de l', basant llur decisió en les indicacions de la mateixa Assemblea. Altres funcions del President són (nominalment) la de Comandant de l'exèrcit vietnamita, i la de Cap del Consell de Defensa Nacional i Seguretat. - This is a list of those who have served as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Vietnamese: Chủ tịch nước Cộng hòa xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam) from the establishment of the position to the present. Since Vietnam is a single-party state, the president is generally considered to hold the second highest position in the political system, after the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In its current incarnation the president is the head of state of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, as well as the head of government in tandem with prime minister. The president represents Vietnam internally and externally, supervises the work as well as preserving the stability of the national governmental system and safeguards the independence and territorial integrity of the country. The president appoints prime minister, vice-presidents, ministers and other officials with the consent of the National Assembly. The head of state is the de jure commander-in-chief of the Vietnam People's Armed Forces and Chairman of the Council for Defence and Security, an organ of the National Assembly. Since Vietnam is a one-party state, with the Communist Party of Vietnam being the sole party allowed by the constitution, all the presidents of the Democratic Republic and the Socialist Republic have been members of the party while holding office. The current President is Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, since 5 April 2021. He is also the former Prime Minister of Vietnam. The modern office of the President of the Socialist Republic traces its lineage back to Hồ Chí Minh, the first President of the North Vietnam, and the office has no connection, or lineage, officially at least, to the head of state of the former South Vietnam (Nguyễn Hữu Thọ, a communist and the head of state of South Vietnam). Officially there have been 11 presidents, although the count is 12 presidents should the one declared president of South Vietnam be counted. (en)

- O Presidente da República Socialista do Vietnã, conhecido oficialmente como Presidente do Conselho de Estado entre 1981 e 1992, é o chefe de Estado da República Socialista do Vietnã. Além disto, o Presidente do Vietnã é também o chefe de governo juntamente com o Primeiro-ministro. O presidente representa o país na esfera global e lidera o governo na esfera interna, supervisionando a condução da política interna enquanto preserva a estabilidade do sistema político vietnamita. O Presidente nomeia o Primeiro-ministro, Vice-presidentes, Ministros de Estado e outros cargos com o consentimento da Assembleia Nacional. O chefe de Estado é também comandante-em-chefe das Forças Armadas do Vietnã e chefia o , este último sendo um órgão da Assembleia Nacional. Uma vez que o Vietnã é um Estado unipartidário - tendo o Partido Comunista do Vietnã como partido dominante segundo a Constituição do país - todos os presidentes da República Democrática e da presente República Socialista têm sido membros deste mesmo partido. O cargo de Presidente do Vietnã remonta ao líder socialista Hồ Chí Minh, o primeiro a ocupar o cargo na República Democrática em 1945. Hồ Chí Minh governou o país até a data de sua morte, em 1969, sendo sucedido pelo então Vice-presidente Tôn Đức Thắng. Entretanto, o cargo atual não possui correlação histórica com o extinto cargo de chefe de Estado do Vietnã do Sul. A alternância de oficialidade dos governos de ambos os territórios até a Reunificação em 1976 levou a uma múltipla sucessão de presidentes, sendo que o atual sistema político do país reconhece apenas 10 presidentes em sua história - o que exclui o primeiro governo de entre 1969 e 1976. O nono e atual Presidente do Vietnã é Nguyễn Phú Trọng, empossado em 23 de outubro de 2018 após a morte de Trần Đại Quang, que havia assumido o cargo dois anos antes. Nguyễn Phú Trọng acumula o cargo de Secretário-geral do Partido Comunista do Vietnã, sendo também o líder de facto do país e o mais elevado no Politburo do partido. (pt)
