- الحزب الجمهوري الليبرالي أو الحزب الجمهوري الحر هو الحزب السياسي الذي تأسس في العهد الجمهوري، وهو تجربة أخرى على إثر التحول للحياة السياسية المتعددة الأحزاب. أسس علي فتحي بك الحزب الجمهوري الحر بموافقة واقتراح مصطفى كمال في إثر عودته من سفارة باريس. كان يؤكد في برنامجه على أن الحزب ملزم بمبدأ الجمهورية والقومية والعلمانية، وكان ملزم أيضا بتشجيع دخول الأموال الأجنبية للبلاد وكان يعارض تدخل الدولة في الحياة الاقتصادية بإستمرار. كان الحزب الجمهوري الحر ينتابه القلق من إدارة حزب الشعب الجمهوري بسبب إحظائها على دعم كبير في فترة وجيزة. لكن أدرك فتحي بك أن الحزب الجمهوري الحر سيمكنه أن يتبوأ منصبا من خلال التنازع مع رئيس الجمهورية وصرح أن الحزب الجمهوري الحر حل من خلال إحالته لوزارة الداخلية في 17 أكتوبر 1930 بزعم أن هذا سينتج عواقب وخيمة للغاية. - Le Serbest Cumhuriyet Fırkası ou SCF (« Parti républicain libéral ») est le deuxième parti politique d'opposition créé en Turquie après l'accession au pouvoir de Mustafa Kemal. Il est fondé le 12 août 1930 par Ali Fethi Okyar. Il participe aux premières élections multipartites du régime kémaliste le 5 octobre et y remporte un succès estimable (voir tableau), ce qui provoque la fureur du parti au pouvoir. Le SCF est accusé par son concurrent de s'allier aux minorités ethnoreligieuses, aux Kurdes, aux conservateurs religieux, aux étrangers, d'être en contact avec les partisans du retour à l'Empire ottoman. À Istanbul, qui compte 42 sièges à pourvoir, il présente par exemple 5 Grecs, 2 Arméniens et 2 Juifs. La colère de Mustafa Kemal et des dirigeants de son Parti républicain du peuple est telle à la suite de cette démonstration de popularité de l'opposition que le SCF, accusé d'avoir falsifié les élections là où il les a remportées, est "autodissout" le 17 novembre 1930 et que l'avènement du multipartisme est reporté de 15 ans, les premières élections réellement démocratiques n'auront lieu qu'en 1950, et seront remportées par l'opposition. - The Liberal Republican Party (sometimes referred to as the Free Republican Party; in Turkish: Serbest Cumhuriyet Fırkası, acronymized as SCF [seːdʒeːfeˑ]) was a political party founded by Fethi Okyar upon President Kemal Atatürk's request in the early years of the Turkish Republic. In the context of the Ooe-party period, Mustafa Kemal requested for Okyar to create a new movement as an opposition party to confront the ruling Republican People's Party with the aim of establishing the tradition of multi-party democracy in Turkey. After the first tentative of Progressive Republican Party during the period 1924-1925, it represents the second attempt to create a pluralist system in the country. Even if the party advocated liberal views, both economically and politically, in its program, it was quickly embraced by many opponents of Atatürk's reforms, particularly regarding secularism. Thus, after its participation in the in which it won 31 of 502 municipalities, it was personally dissolved in November 1930 by Okyar, who was an ardent supporter of the reforms. The closure of the Free Republican Party left Turkey as a one-party state until the establishment of the National Development Party (Milli Kalkınma Partisi) in 1945 and the Democrat Party in 1946.
