- اللبنانيين في مصر هم أشخاص من لبنان أو من أصل لبناني يعيشون أو عاشوا في مصر. العديد من الشخصيات البارزة التي ظهرت في مصر كانت من أصل لبناني مثل الممثل المشهور عالمياً عمر الشريف (الاسم عند الولادة ميشيل شلهوب) والمخرج المصري المشهور يوسف شاهين. كان معظم اللبنانيين الذين كانوا يقيمون في مصر من المتعلمين تعليماً عالياً وقد ساهم المجتمع اللبنانى ككل في رفاه مصر الثقافي والمالي خاصة خلال عهد أسرة محمد علي. منذ الثورة المصرية عام 1952 غادر معظم الجالية اللبنانية في مصر البلاد مهاجرة إلى الأمريكتين وأوروبا وأستراليا بالإضافة إلى عودة الكثير منهم إلى لبنان خاصة بيروت. حدث ارتفاع في الهجرة اللبنانية إلى مصر بين القرنين التاسع عشر وأوائل القرن العشرين. نظرًا لأن لبنان كان جزءًا من سوريا العثمانية خلال هذا الوقت فقد هاجر المسيحيون من جميع أنحاء بلاد الشام (سوريا ولبنان وفلسطين) إلى مصر كجماعة واحدة تحت اسم الشوام. وبالتالي فإنه مصطلح شامل لمجتمعهم وهو «السوريون اللبنانيون». زاد عدد المسيحيين اللبنانيين في مصر بشكل كبير خلال الصراع في لبنان عام 1860 والذي قتل فيه الآلاف من المسيحيين إلى جانب تدمير مئات من قراهم. كانت الغالبية العظمى من المهاجرين اللبنانيين وغيرهم من المشرقيين الذين وصلوا إلى مصر متعلمين جيدًا ويتحدثون الفرنسية. كانت الجالية اللبنانية التاريخية في مصر خاصة خلال القرن التاسع عشر وأوائل القرن العشرين مسيحية بشكل شبه حصري من (الروم الكاثوليك الرومان والروم الأرثوذكس والكاثوليك الموارنة) مع وجود أعداد صغيرة من المسلمين واليهود بينهم. في الوقت الحاضر يميل كثير من اللبنانيين الذين يعيشون في مصر ومعظمهم من أجل التعليم أو العمل إلى أن يكونوا مسلمين. - The Lebanese people of Egypt are people from Lebanon or those of Lebanese descent who live or have lived in the country of Egypt. Many prominent figures that have emerged in Egypt were of Lebanese origin, such as the world-famous actor, Omar Sharif (born Michel Chalhoub), and the highly acclaimed Egyptian filmmaker, Youssef Chahine. Most Lebanese who resided in Egypt were highly educated, and the community as a whole contributed to both Egypt's cultural and financial well being, especially during the era of the Muhammad Ali dynasty. Since the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, most of Egypt's Lebanese community left the country immigrating to the Americas, Europe, and Australia, as well as many returning to their native Lebanon (especially Beirut). The height of Lebanese immigration into Egypt occurred between the 19th and early 20th centuries. As Lebanon was part of Ottoman Syria during this time, Christians from all over the Levant (modern-day Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine) were immigrating to Egypt as one "Shawam" (شوام), or "Levantine" group. Hence, an umbrella term for their community is "Syro-Lebanese". The number of Lebanese Christians in Egypt grew drastically during the 1860 Lebanon conflict, in which thousands of Christians were killed along with hundreds of their villages destroyed. The vast majority of Lebanese and other Levantine migrants who arrived in Egypt were well-educated and French-speaking. The historic Lebanese community of Egypt, especially during the 19th and early 20th centuries, was almost exclusively Christian (Melkite Greek Catholic, Greek Orthodox, and Maronite Catholic), with small numbers of Muslims and Jews among them.
