Der Lausanne Football and Cricket Club war Gründungsmitglied des Schweizerischen Fussballverbandes und nahm an der ersten Schweizer Fussballmeisterschaft 1897/98 sowie der zweiten Schweizer Fussballmeisterschaft 1898/99 teil. - The Lausanne Football and Cricket Club was a Swiss association football and cricket club. The club was founded in 1860 by English students, who had studied at private schools in the area of Lausanne. During the year of the foundation this club could be the first soccer club in Continental Europe. The worldwide first soccer club Sheffield F.C. is only three years older, however it is likely that Lausanne played cricket before football at the club (as it was more well established). It is unknown in which "football form" the Lausanne Football and Cricket Club have played, because at that time the "association football" rules still did not exist. The club was also a founder member of the Swiss Football Association and participated at the first Swiss championship 1897/98 as well as the second championship 1898/99. (en)

- Lausanne Football and Cricket Club was een Zwitserse voetbalclub en cricketclub uit Lausanne. De club werd in 1860 door Engelse studenten, die op privé-scholen in Lausanne zaten, opgericht. Door het vroeg oprichtingsjaar kon dit weleens de oudste club van het Europese vasteland zijn. De oudste club ter wereld, Sheffield FC is slechts 3 jaar ouder. De club was mede-stichtend lid van de Zwitserse voetbalbond en nam deel aan de eerste 2 kampioenschappen in 1897/98 en 1898/99. In het eerste seizoen won de club 4-0 en 5-2, maar werd dan uitgeschakeld door Villa Longchamp Lausanne met 1-0. Het volgende seizoen versloeg de club Geneva United en FC Yverdon met duidelijke cijfers en plaatste zich zo voor de finaleronde. Op 5 maart 1899 moest de club aantreden tegen Old Boys Basel, maar de Britse spelers wilden niet op een zondag spelen en trokken zich terug. Daarna verdween de club. (nl)

Il club è stato fondato nel 1860 da studenti inglesi dell'area di Losanna. In base alla data di fondazione potrebbe essere il club calcistico più antico fondato nell'Europa continentale (nato soli 3 anni dopo l'inglese Sheffield Football Club). Tra i membri fondatori dell'Associazione Svizzera di Football, ha disputato i primi due campionati svizzeri della storia, nelle stagioni 1897-98 e 1898-99. In quest'ultima stagione ha ottenuto il suo miglior risultato, un terzo posto finale. Quel torneo viene anche ricordato perché la squadra, raggiunte le finali del campionato, rinunciò a giocare contro i basilesi dell'Old Boys poiché l'incontro era previsto di domenica. Nel 1902, il club viene rilevato dal Montriond-Lausanne, che lo stesso anno partecipa al primo campionato svizzero della sua storia. (it)
