- Lambdaistanbul je turecká LGBT organizace. Byla založena v roce 1993 jako kulturní svaz LGBT komunity a v roce 2006 jí byl dán status oficiální organizace. Podílela se rovněž na konání prvních, zpočátku ilegálních, festivalů hrdosti roku 1993 v Turecku, které se postupem času staly veřejnými shromážděními se státní záštitou. Organizaci byla z rozhodnutí soudu v květnu 2008 pozastavená činnost. Prokurátor tehdy označoval činnost Lambda Istanbul za protiprávní a amorální. Rozsudek byl kritizován ze strany Human Rights Watch a Amnesty International. Nejvyšší odvolací soud tento rozsudek 25. listopadu 2008 zvrátil a 30. dubna 2009 vydal soud nižší istance Lambdaistanbul nové povolení k činnosti. Činnost Lambdy zahrnuje:
* Hlášení ohledně dodržování lidských práv v Turecku
* Lobbing za změnu článku 10 Ústavy Turecké republiky, podle něhož je momentálně nepřípustná diskriminace na základě jazyka, rasy, barvy pleti, politického přesvědčení, náboženství, denominaci a jiných obdobných kritérií, nicméně není zde stále začleněná sexuální orientace a pohlavní identita. (cs)
- Lambda Istanbul ist eine Vereinigung homo- und bisexueller Männer und Frauen sowie Transvestiten und Transsexueller in der Türkei. Die Organisation wurde nach eigener Darstellung im Jahre 1993 gegründet, als der Gouverneur Istanbuls den Christopher Street Day verbieten ließ. Die Gruppe, die unter dem Namen Gökkuşağı (Regenbogen) gegründet worden war, nannte sich fortan Lambda Istanbul. Seit diesem Jahr veranstaltet Lamda Istanbul jährlich verschiedene Aktivitäten unter der Bezeichnung „Ehrenwoche“ (Onur Haftası). In Istanbul veranstaltete die Organisation in diesem Rahmen 2003 die erste Großdemo Homosexueller. Lambda Istanbul führt ansonsten Informationsveranstaltungen und Konferenzen zu LSBT-Themen durch, betreibt ein Kulturzentrum und eine Bibliothek. Ein kurzfristiges Verbot der Interessengruppe im Mai 2008 löste eine große Protestwelle bei Unterstützern in ganz Europa aus und wurde vom Obersten Berufungsgericht der Türkei wieder aufgehoben. Das Motto der Organisation ist „Ne yanlış ne de yalnızsınız“, was so viel wie „Ihr seid weder falsch noch alleine“ bedeutet. Zu den führenden Mitgliedern gehörte Ebru Soykan, die 2009 ermordet wurde. - Lambda Istanbul is a Turkish LGBT organization. It was founded in 1993 as a cultural space for the LGBT community, and became an official organization in 2006. Clandestine Pride events were held in Turkey starting in 1993, and with Lambda Istanbul participation, they became public marches. The organization was ordered dissolved in May 2008 following a court decision. The prosecutors claimed that Lambda Istanbul's objectives were "against the law and morality". The order has been criticized by Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. The Supreme Court of Appeals overturned this order on November 25, 2008, and on April 30, 2009, a lower court granted Lambda Istanbul permission to continue operating. The agenda of Lambda includes:
* Reporting human rights violations.
* Helping change the 10th article of the Constitution, pending its amendment. According to the Article No.10 of the Constitution of Turkey, discrimination based on language, race, skin color, gender, political opinion, religion, denomination and similar reasons is prohibited but it does not directly refer to sexual orientation or sexual identity.
