- Jewish Koine Greek, or Jewish Hellenistic Greek, is the variety of Koine Greek or "common Attic" found in a number of Alexandrian dialect texts of Hellenistic Judaism, most notably in the Septuagint translation of the Hebrew Bible and associated literature, as well as in Greek Jewish texts from Palestine. The term is largely equivalent with Greek of the Septuagint as a cultural and literary rather than a linguistic category. The minor syntax and vocabulary variations in the Koine Greek of Jewish authors are not as linguistically distinctive as the later language Yevanic, or Judeo-Greek, spoken by the Romaniote Jews in Greece. The term "Jewish Koine" is to be distinguished from the concept of a "Jewish koine" as a literary-religious, not a linguistic concept. (en)
- La Koinè giudaica greca (o giudaismo ellenistico) è una variante linguistica della lingua greca comune (koinè) parlata al tempo di Alessandro Magno e dell'Ellenismo, che in sostanza coincideva con il dialetto attico. Questa variante fu diffusa da ebrei di lingua greca al tempo della diaspora e risente in parte della loro lingua madre. Tale variante linguistica è stata attribuita ad un certo numero di testi composti in dialetto alessandrino: principalmente la prima traduzione della Bibbia in greco ellenistico (la Septuaginta) e la relativa letteratura, ma anche ad alcuni testi ebraico-greci provenienti dalla Palestina. Anche se è chiamato greco biblico o greco della Septuaginta, in realtà non coincidette con una singola opera o con la letteratura ad essa collegata, ma ha caratterizzato un insieme di autori e un corpo di scritti non ancora cristiani, come furono le opere del filosofo Filone Alessandrino. È quindi opportuno intendere la koinè giudaica come un fatto religioso e letterario, piuttosto che come un mero fenomeno linguistico. (it)
