- جميلة محمود هي طبيبة ماليزية. منذ كانون الثاني/يناير 2016 وهي تشغل منصب وكيل الأمين العام للشراكات في الاتحاد الدولي لجمعيات الصليب الأحمر والهلال الأحمر. قبل أن تنضم إلى الاتحاد الدولي؛ شغلت الدكتورة جميلة رئيسة القمة الإنسانية العالمية للأمانة العامة في الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك و رئيس الاستجابة الإنسانية في فرع صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان في عام 2011. من 1999 إلى غاية 2009 و رئيس جمعية الإغاثة الطبية الخيرية الماليزية (تُعرف أحيانا باسم رحمة ماليزيا) التي أُسست في حزيران/يونيو 1999 وهي مستوحاة من منظمة أطباء بلا حدود. في عام 2008، وهي واحدة من 16 أعضاء يعينهم الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة بان كي مون في الفريق الاستشاري التابع للصندوق المركزي للاستجابة لحالات الطوارئ. - Tan Sri Jemilah binti Mahmood (* 1959 in Seremban) ist eine malaysische Ärztin und Menschenrechtsaktivistin. Anlässlich des Kosovokriegs gründete sie 1999 die mittlerweile international tätige Humanitäre Hilfsorganisation MERCY Malaysia, der sie bis 2009 als Präsidentin vorstand. Im Lauf ihrer humanitären Arbeit war sie zeitweilig Vorsitzende der humanitären Abteilung des Bevölkerungsfonds der Vereinten Nationen, war maßgeblich an der Organisation des World Humanitarian Summit beteiligt und diente der Internationalen Föderation der Rotkreuz- und Rothalbmond-Gesellschaften als Generalsekretärin. Seit August 2021 ist sie geschäftsführende Direktorin des Sunway Centre for Planetary Health, seit September 2021 Prokanzlerin des malaysischen Campus der Heriot-Watt University. Sie ist die erste Malaysierin, die den hoch dotierten, asiatischen Friedenspreis sowie den erhielt. (de)

She has served as Pro-Chancellor of the Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) since September 2021, Professor and Executive Director of for Planetary Health since August 2021, and Senior Fellow at the Adrienne-Arsht-Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center. She served as Special Advisor to the former Prime Minister of Malaysia Muhyiddin Yassin on Public Health from March 2020 to August 2021 and Under-Secretary General for Partnerships in the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) from January 2016 to 2020. Before joining the IFRC, she served as Chief of the Secretariat of the World Humanitarian Summit at the United Nations in New York, heading the humanitarian branch at the United National Population Fund, Chief of the Humanitarian Response Branch at UNFPA in 2011, President of the (Mercy Malaysia) from its foundation in June 1999 to a decade later in 2009. Mercy Malaysia is a medical charity she founded in June 1999, inspired by the Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). In 2008, she was one of the 16 members appointed by Ban Ki-moon, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations to Advisory Group of the Central Emergency Response Fund. (en)
