- James Gatschene Memorial Trophy byla trofej každoročně udělována vynikajícím schopnosti a sportovním chováním v průběhu pravidelné sezóny hráči působícím v IHL.Pro tuto trofej vybírali ligový trenéři. Trofej byla poprvé představena v závěru sezóny 1946-1947 a byla pojmenována jako památka po zesnulém členu kanadské sily Gatschene, který zahynul během druhé světové války. (cs)
- Die James Gatschene Memorial Trophy war eine Eishockey-Trophäe der International Hockey League (IHL), die von 1945 bis 2001 Bestand hatte. Sie wurde jährlich an den besten Spieler verliehen. Hervorragende Fähigkeiten und Eigenschaften in den Spielen der regulären Saison stellten die Auswahlkriterien für die Trainer der Liga, die aus den vorgeschlagenen Spielern den Gewinner bestimmten. In der Saison 1946/47 wurde die Trophäe von den Arbeitern der Chrysler-Fabrik in Windsor, Ontario, zum Gedenken an , dem verstorbenen Kollegen und Eishockey-Star der -Region, gestiftet. The trophy was first presented at the close of the 1946–1947 season by workers of the Chrysler factory in Windsor, Ontario, as a memorial to Gatschene, a former Chrysler employee and hockey star in the Windsor-Detroit area. Gatschene was a member of the Canadian Forces, killed in action during World War II. (en)

Il vincitore veniva decretato dal voto degli allenatori. Il trofeo fu presentato per la prima volta al termine della stagione 1946-1947 dagli operai della fabbrica Chrysler di Windsor in ricordo di Gatschene, ex-operaio Chrysler e giocatore di hockey su ghiaccio nelle leghe dell'area Windsor-Detroit.
