- Ο Ιβάτζης (βουλ: Ивац) ήταν Βούλγαρος ευγενής και στρατιωτικός αρχηγός κατά την βασιλεία του Σαμουήλ, του Γαβριήλ Ρωμανού και του . Είναι γνωστό ότι είχε σταματήσει, στη της Μπίτολας, τους Βυζαντινούς που είχαν στη διοίκηση τους τον Γεώργιο Γονιτζιάτη και τον Ορέστη. Ενώ οι άλλοι Βούλγαροι αρχηγοί είχαν παραδοθεί στον Βασίλειο Β', το 1018, ο Ιβάτζης τραβήχτηκε στο κάστρο του Βροχωτού, το οποίο ο Βυζαντινός Αυτοκράτορας πολιόρκησε για σχεδόν δύο μήνες χωρίς επιτυχία. Τότε, ο Κατεπάνω Ευστάθιος Δαφνομήλης και δύο συντρόφοι του επισκέφθηκαν τον Ιβάτζη στο κάστρο, προφασιζόμενοι ότι ήθελαν να μιλήσουν με τον Βούλγαρο αρχηγό. Μετά από το δείπνο, ο Δαφνομήλης έμεινε μόνος με τον Ιβάτζη, τον οποίο ακινητοποίησε και τύφλωσε. - Ivats (Bulgarian: Ивац) or Ibatzes was a Bulgarian noble and military commander in the late 10th and early 11th century. He served three Bulgarian Emperors - Samuil (997-1014); Gavril Radomir (1014–1015) and Ivan Vladislav (1015–1018). In 1015, he defeated a Byzantine army in the battle of Bitola and stopped the disastrous campaign of Basil II in the heart of the Bulgarian Empire. After the death of Ivan Vladislav and the surrender of the Empress, the Patriarch and many nobles to the Byzantines, he chose to continue the struggle along the sons of the dead Emperor and several other nobles. His stronghold was the fortress in Mount Tomor, modern south-eastern Albania. The fortress was soon besieged by Basil II but the 55-day siege was unsuccessful for the Byzantines. In August 1018 he was treacherously blinded by the Byzantine strategos Eustathios Daphnomeles. (en)

Sirvió a tres emperadores búlgaros; Samuel (997-1014), Gabriel Radomir (1014-1015) e Iván Vladislav (1015-1018). En 1015 derrotó a un ejército bizantino en la batalla de Bitola y detuvo la desastrosa campaña de Basilio II en el corazón del Imperio búlgaro.
