- Die Internationale Vereinigung der Immunologie Gesellschaften (IUIS), Mitglied des Internationalen Wissenschaftsrats (ISC), ist der internationale Dachverband nationaler Immunologiegesellschaften in 83 Staaten und vier integralen territorialen Unterorganisationen. Dazu zählen die European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS), Federation of African Immunological Societies (FAIS), Federation of Immunological Societies of Asia-Oceania (FIMSA) und die Latin American Association of Immunology (ALAI). Bei einem internationalen Immunologiekongress am 5. Mai 1969 in Brügge (Belgien) gründeten die Vertreter von 10 nationalen Immunologiegesellschaften die IUIS und so gilt dies auch als Gründungsort und -datum der Union. Die nationalen Gründungsesellschaften waren die American Association of Immunologists, die British Society for Immunology, die Canadian Society for Immunology, die Dutch Society for Immunology, die deutsche Gesellschaft für Immunologie, die israelische Immunological Society, die Polish Society of Immunology, die Scandinavian Society for Immunology, die Société Française d’immunologie und die Yugoslav Immunological Society. Die auf dieser Tagung ebenfalls anwesenden Vertreter aus Australien (Australian Society for Immunology) und der Schweiz (Society of Allergy and Immunology) verfügten nicht über die Vollmacht ihrer Organisationen sich ebenfalls als offizielle Gründungsmitglieder zu beteiligen, unterstützten aber das Projekt ohne Vorbehalt. Später wurden sie mit Beschluss des Konzils auch zu den Gründungsmitgliedern gezählt (de)
- The International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS), a member of the International Council for Science, is an organization which serves as an umbrella organization for many national and regionally grouped immunological societies. The organization was founded in 1969. The ten founding member societies were the American Association of Immunologists, British Society for Immunology, Canadian Society for Immunology, Dutch Society for Immunology, Gesellschaft fur Immunologie, Israel Immunological Society, Polish Society of Immunology, Scandinavian Society for Immunology, Societe Francaise d’immunologie, and Yugoslav Immunological Society. IUIS had 83 member societies in 2019. The 2019-2022 executive committee of the IUIS is Faith Osier, President; Miriam Merad, Vice-President; Roslyn Kemp, Secretary General; Michael Ratcliffe, Treasurer; Alberto Mantovani, Past President. Every three years the IUIS organizes an international congress, called the International Congress of Immunology (ICI), with one of its national society members. The 2016 ICI was held in Melbourne, Australia. Last ICI (rebranded as IUIS2019) took place in Beijing, China in 2019. Cape Town, South Africa will host IUIS2022. Frontiers in Immunology is the IUIS' official journal. Immunopaedia.org is the official educational provider of online pre-course material for IUIS immunology courses in the developing world and in other countries. The standing committees of the IUIS are Clinical Immunology, Education, Gender Equality and Career Development, Immunotherapy, Inborn Errors of Immunity, Nomenclature, Publications, Quality Assessment and Standardization, Vaccines, and Veterinary. ICI w 2016 odbyło się w Melbourne w Australii. Następny pod nazwą IUIS2019 odbył się w Pekinie w Chinach w 2019 r., a Kapsztad w Południowej Afryce będzie gospodarzem IUIS2022. Frontiers in Immunology to oficjalny dziennik IUIS. Immunopaedia.org jest oficjalną internetową platformą edukacyjną przed kursami immunologii organizowanymi przez IUIS w krajach rozwijających się, ale też w innych krajach. Stałe komisje IUIS zajmują się następującymi zagadnieniami: immunologia kliniczna, edukacja, równość płci i rozwój kariery, immunoterapia, wrodzone zaburzenia odporności, nazewnictwo, publikacje, ocena jakości i standaryzacja, szczepionki i weterynaria. Do ich działań należy również klasyfikacja pierwotnych niedoborów odporności. (pl)
