- Der Europäische Nationalitätenkongress (ENK – engl.: European Congress of Nationalities; frz.: Congrès européen de la nationalité; span.: Congreso Europeo nacionalidad) war eine Nichtregierungsorganisation, die 1925 von Vertretern nationaler Minderheiten in Europa gegründet wurde und bis 1938 bestand. Während dieser Zeit fanden unter der gleichen Bezeichnung jährliche Tagungen statt, zu denen sich Delegierte aus bis zu 33 europäischen Ländern versammelten. Ziel des Interessenverbundes war der Schutz und die völkerrechtliche Anerkennung ethnischer Minderheiten als Rechtssubjekt. Der ENK besaß einen Beobachterstatus beim Völkerbund. Sein Hauptsitz und Sekretariat befand sich anfangs in Genf und wurde am 1. April 1927 nach Wien verlegt. Als offizielle Nachfolgeorganisation versteht sich die Föderalistische Union Europäischer Volksgruppen, welche heute einen Teilnehmenden Status beim Europarat und einen Konsultativen Status bei den Vereinten Nationen besitzt. - The International Congress of National Minorities was an organization formed after World War I to lobby for the rights of ethnic and religious minorities and especially Jews living in the nations of Europe and much of Asia, especially in the aftermath of the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the German Empire, and the Russian Empire. The organization helped in the construction of places of worship for Jews around the world. The body participated at the Paris Peace Conference, 1919 and later in the League of Nations. One of its most prominent leaders was the Zionist politician Leo Motzkin. (en)
