- Die Indische Partij (IP; auch: Indies Party, Partai Hindia) war eine kurzlebige, aber einflussreiche politische Organisation, die 1912 vom indo-europäischen Journalisten und den javanesischen Ärzten und gegründet wurde und nur bis 1913 bestand. Als eine der ersten politischen Organisationen, die sich für indonesischen Nationalismus im kolonialen Niederländisch-Indien stark machte, inspirierte sie mehrere spätere Organisationen, wie die „“ (NIP) der „“ (1919) und „“ (IEV). Die direkte Nachfolgepartei war „“. „Revolutionäres Handeln ermöglicht es den Menschen, ihre Ziele schnell zu erreichen. Das ist gewiss nicht unmoralisch [...] Die Indische Party kann sicherlich Revolutionär genannt werden. Solch eine Bezeichnung schreckt uns nicht[...]“ Trotz ihres kurzen Bestehens sammelte die Partei mehr als 7.000 Mitglieder und als erste multi-rassische politische Partei, die zu dieser Zeit die radikale Forderung nach Unabhängigkeit stellte, zeigt sie, wie drängend der Unabhängigkeitswille zu dieser Zeit bereits war. Das Ziel der Partei war die Vereinigung aller einheimischen Völker der Indies im Kampf für einen unabhängigen Staat (Nation). As one of the first political organisations pioneering Indonesian nationalism in the colonial Dutch East Indies it inspired several later organisations such as the Nationaal Indische Party (N.I.P.) or Sarekat Hindia in 1919 and Indo Europeesch Verbond (I.E.V.) in 1919. Het doel van het IP was om alle inheemse volkeren van Indonesië te verenigen in een strijd voor een onafhankelijke natie. De leus was Indië los van Holland. De partij kreeg niet de gehoopte brede aanhang, alleen Indo-Europeanen steunden haar, ze telde ongeveer 7000 leden. Niettemin zagen de autoriteiten in haar een bedreiging van de openbare orde, en ze werd in 1913 verboden. De de koloniale autoriteiten hadden angst voor een samenwerking met de Sarekat Islam (SI), die een grote inheemse aanhang had. De drie oprichters werden naar de Banda-eilanden en daarna naar Nederland verbannen. De partij werd opgevolgd door de of de Nationale Indische Partij (NIP), die op zijn beurt in 1919 veranderde in het Indo-Europeesch Verbond (IEV). (nl)
