De besnorde Jolley was veelvuldig te zien in B-westerns, veelal als een outlaw. Ook speelde hij vaak gastrollen in westernseries als Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Wild Wild West, The Big Valley en Rawhide. Wel speelde hij vaak kleine rollen en stond vaak niet eens op de aftiteling. Volgens zijn vrouw ontving hij nooit meer dan 100 dollar per film. Al met al werkte hij sinds de jaren 30 tot 1976 in zo'n 350 producties mee, dat toch wel haast een record genoemd mag worden. Vermoedelijk speelde hij nog in meer producties mee, maar dit is nooit gearchiveerd. Zijn zoon is artdirector en productie-designer. Hij overleed op 78-jarige leeftijd aan een emfyseem. (nl)
