- Una torre humana o castell és una mena de coreografia o d'exercici acrobàtic en què un grup de persones pugen unes damunt les altres, dempeus o de genolls, recolzant els peus o bé els genolls sobre l'esquena, les espatlles, les mans o les cuixes d'un altre, creant així diferents estructures. N'hi ha de gran diversitat de formacions i de diversos pisos d'alçada. Cada pis sol estar constituït per menys participants que l'immediat inferior, llevat que es tracti de muntar directament un participant sobre un altre. Els participants de menys pes se situen als pisos superiors, mentre els més corpulents formen la base de la piràmide. Existeix una gran varietat de tradicions folclòriques, d'exercicis gimnàstics i d'espectacles de circ que es poden classificar com a torres humanes a diversos països arreu del món. (ca)

- Human tower is a performance variation of gymnastic formation. Together with the human pyramid, it is exhibited frequently at the climax of the performance. - A torre humana é uma variedade de montagem da ginástica montada. Junto com a pirâmide humana, é apresentada frequentemente na cena final. Na ginástica, é a montagem de maior tamanho e altura. Sobre o ombro dos componentes da base, colocam-se os pés dos componente do segundo andar. Da mesma forma, acumulam-se os componentes dos andares superiores. A montagem é realizada na postura sentada. Após a conclusão a montagem, a torre se levanta a partir de andares inferiores para superiores e, finalmente toma a postura ereta. Como um termo geral, a expressão torre humana é frequentemente confundida com a pirâmide humana. O presente item apresenta a torre humana da ginástica montada. (pt)
