Er war einer der bedeutendsten Erneuerer des Wirtschafts- und Industriefilms sowie des Musik- und Ballettfilms. Seinem experimentellen Kamera- und Schnittstil wird ein großer Beitrag bei der Entstehung der modernen Musikvideo-Ästhetik zugeschrieben.
