- Howard van Nostrand Valentine (Brooklyn, Nova York, 14 de desembre de 1881 - Manhattan, Nova York, 25 de juny de 1932) va ser un atleta estatunidenc que va córrer a primers del segle XX i que va prendre part en els Jocs Olímpics de 1904 i 1906. El 1904 va participar en els Jocs Olímpics de Saint Louis en quatre proves. En la cursa de les 4 milles per equips guanyà la medalla d'or formant part de l'equip New York Athletic Club, junt amb Arthur Newton, George Underwood, Paul Pilgrim i David Munson. En els 800 metres guanyà la medalla de plata en quedar per darrere Jim Lightbody, mentre que en els 1500 metres quedà entre la 7a posició. Bei den Olympischen Spielen 1904 in St. Louis gewann der für den New York Athletic Club antretende Valentine die Goldmedaille im Mannschaftslauf über 4 Meilen. Am selben Tag wurde er Siebter im 1500-Meter-Lauf. Wenige Tage zuvor hatte er im 800-Meter-Lauf hinter James Lightbody die Silbermedaille geworden. Valentine war 1903 und 1904 Meister der Amateur Athletic Union über 880 Yards. Er nahm 1906 auch an den Olympischen Zwischenspielen in Athen teil, schied aber sowohl im 400-Meter-Lauf als auch im 800-Meter-Lauf in der Qualifikation aus. (de)

- Howard Van Nostrand Valentine (December 14, 1881 – June 25, 1932) was an American track and field athlete who competed in the 1904 Summer Olympics and in the 1906 Summer Olympics. He competed for the United States in the 1904 Summer Olympics held in St Louis, United States in the 800 metres where he won the silver medal and in the 1500 metres event where he finished seventh. He also competed for the New York Athletic Club team in the 4 mile team race against Chicago AA with teammates Arthur Newton, George Underwood, Paul Pilgrim and David Munson. They won the race and the gold medal. Two years later at the Intercalated Games he was eliminated in the first round of the 400 metres and 800 metres events. In 1911 his house was broken into and around 270 of his athletics cups and medals were stolen. In 1932, upon suffering a heart attack, Valentine was admitted to the Broad Street Hospital in New York City where he later died. At the time of his death he was an office manager with the brokerage firm of E.C. Benedict & Co. (en)

Wraz z kolegami (Arthur Newton, Paul Pilgrim, George Underwood i David Munson) zwyciężył w tej konkurencji, wyprzedzając o 1 punkt drużynę mieszaną startującą jako Chicago Athletic Association.
