- Hippopotamomus is the fifth studio album by British musician Momus, released in 1991 through Creation Records. The album's third track, "Michelin Man", caused Momus to be threatened with legal action by the Michelin tyre company. They were angered by his use of their mascot, the aforementioned Michelin Man, an anthropomorphic pile of rubber inner-tubes, as a metaphor for hypersexual rubber fetishism. As a result, all unsold copies of the album were destroyed and future pressings of the album omitted the song from the album. (en)
- Hippopotamomus è un album in studio del cantautore scozzese Momus, pubblicato nel 1991. Registrata con strumentazione economica e di seconda mano da questi nel suo appartamento di Londra e dedicata a Serge Gainsbourg, quest'opera è stata accolta in maniera molto positiva dalla critica, che la identifica come una delle migliori del cantante e anche come una delle più importanti, in quanto segna il definitivo distacco dalla classica "forma canzone", spingendosi verso forme più sperimentali e naif di musica pop. La traccia Made of Rubber fu al centro di una causa legale intentata dalla Michelin a Momus. Infatti essa era inizialmente intitolata Michelin Man e paragonava la mascotte dell'azienda ad un pupazzo erotico gonfiabile. Nelle stampe successive dell'album le venne cambiato titolo, per poi però non venire affatto inclusa nella tracklist, risultando pertanto una sorta di "traccia fantasma".
