- HMS Hyperion byl britský torpédoborec třídy H-class, který sloužil u Royal Navy během druhé světové války. Stavba začala 26. března 1935 v loděnici Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson Limited v . Na vodu byl spuštěn 8. dubna 1936 a do služby byl přijat 3. prosince 1936.

* Účastnil se v červenci 1940 bitvy u mysu Spatha.
* 14. prosince 1940 potopil blízko Bardie italskou ponorku Naiade. Dne 22. prosince 1940 Hyperion najel na minu, když doprovázel bitevní loď HMS Malaya z Alexandrie do Gibraltaru. Potopil se v Sicilském průlivu u , východně od mysu Bon. (cs)
- HMS Hyperion (H97) war ein Zerstörer der H-Klasse der britischen Royal Navy. Die zweite Hyperion der Royal Navy bildete mit ihren Schwesterschiffen ab 1937 die bei der „Mediterranean Fleet“ eingesetzte „2nd Destroyer Flotilla“. Der seit November 1939 in Bermuda stationierte Zerstörer sollte deutsche Handelsschiffe an der Rückkehr in das Deutsche Reich aus mittelamerikanischen Häfen hindern. Die Hyperion stellte im Dezember 1939 nach amerikanischen Positionsmeldungen östlich von Kap Hatteras das deutsche Passagierschiff Columbus, das sich bei der Annäherung des Zerstörers selbst versenkte, um einer Aufbringung zu entgehen.Ab Ende Mai 1940 wieder bei der britischen Mittelmeerflotte eingesetzt, nahm der Zerstörer im Juli an der Seeschlacht bei Punta Stilo und der Seeschlacht bei Kap Spada als Teil der Sicherungskräfte für schwerere Einheiten teil. Bei der Sicherung der Überführung des Schlachtschiffs Malaya von Alexandria nach Gibraltar lief der Zerstörer am 22. Dezember 1940 vor Pantelleria auf eine Mine, die von italienischen Zerstörern gelegt worden war. Da eine Bergung angesichts der Nähe zu italienischen Luftstützpunkten nicht möglich war, musste das schwer beschädigte Schiff von dem Zerstörer Janus auf 37° 4′ N, 11° 31′ O versenkt werden. (de)

During the Spanish Civil War of 1936–1939, the ship enforced the arms blockade imposed by Britain and France on both sides as part of the Mediterranean Fleet. During the first few months of World War II, Hyperion searched for German commerce raiders in the Atlantic Ocean and blockaded German merchant ships in neutral harbours until she returned to the British Isles in early 1940. The ship participated in the Norwegian Campaign before she was transferred back to the Mediterranean Fleet shortly afterwards. Hyperion participated in the Battle of Calabria and the Battle of Cape Spada in July 1940 while escorting the larger ships of the fleet. The ship covered several convoys to Malta before she struck a mine and was deliberately scuttled in December 1940. (en)
