- Das Finale im Ringeturnen der Männer bei den Olympischen Spielen 2016 in Rio de Janeiro wurde am 15. August 2016 in der Arena Olímpica ausgetragen. Insgesamt traten acht Turner im Finale an. Im Qualifikationswettbewerb am 6. August 2016 hatten sich acht Turner für das Finale qualifiziert. Das Reglement sah vor, dass nur zwei Turner pro NOK im Finale antreten durften. Ein möglicher dritter Qualifikant durfte nicht antreten. Aufgrund einer Verletzung von Samir Aït Saïd und dem Ausschluss Yuri van Gelders aus der niederländischen Mannschaft, rückten die Turner auf Rang neun und zehn der Qualifikation in das Finale vor. Die Wertung einer Übung setzte sich zusammen aus dem Schwierigkeitsgrad (D-Score) und der Ausführung (E-Score), die zur Gesamtwertung addiert und von der evtl. Strafpunkte abgezogen wurden. Sollten zwei Turner die gleiche Gesamtpunktzahl haben, gibt die höhere Wertung der Ausführung den Ausschlag. (de)
- The men's rings competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics was held at the HSBC Arena on 6 and 15 August. There were 70 competitors from 34 nations. The event was won by Eleftherios Petrounias of Greece, the nation's first medal in the men's rings since 2004 (and third overall). Defending champion Arthur Zanetti of Brazil finished second, making him the 13th man to win multiple medals in the event. Denis Ablyazin earned Russia's first post-Soviet medal in the event with his bronze. The medals were presented by Bernard Rajzman IOC member, Brazil and , FIG Executive Committee Member. (en)
