- El premi Grammy al millor àlbum de música regional tradicional és un guardó presentat en els Premis Grammy, una cerimònia que va ser establida en el 1958 i en el seus orígens s'anomenava Premis Gramòfon, per als artistes de gravació que han realitzat àlbums en el gènere musical regional tradicional estatunidenc, incluit la música hawaiana, nativa americana, polca, i cajun. El premi es va iniciar en el 2012, any en què els anteriors premis: i es van ajuntar en un únic guardó. - Der Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album, auf deutsch „Grammy-Award für das beste Album mit Musik mit regionalen Wurzeln“, ist ein Musikpreis, der seit 2012 bei den jährlich stattfindenden Grammy Awards verliehen wird. Der Preis geht an Künstler aus dem Bereich traditioneller Musik wie etwa Zydeco und Cajun-Musik oder traditionelle Hawaiimusik und indianische Musik. Dabei ist der Preis auf Alben begrenzt. Zum Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album wurden die bis 2011 verliehenen Grammys für Best Hawaiian Music Album, Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album and Best Native American Music Album zusammengelegt, da die NARAS die Anzahl der Kategorien deutlich reduzieren sowie teilweise die Trennung von Gesangs- und Instrumentaldarbietungen in den Kategorien abschaffen wollte. Auch bisher nicht über die ursprünglichen Kategorien erfasste Musikrichtungen werden in der neuen Kategorie berücksichtigt, darunter auch die Interpreten des Polka des seit 2009 nicht mehr vergebenen Grammy Award for Best Polka Album. - The Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album is an award presented at the Grammy Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1958 as the Gramophone Awards, to recording artists for releasing albums in the regionally based traditional American music, including Hawaiian, Native American, polka, zydeco and Cajun music genres. Honors in several categories are presented at the ceremony annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States to "honor artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry, without regard to album sales or chart position". The category was introduced in 2012 in which the previous Best Hawaiian Music Album, Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album and Best Native American Music Album categories were combined. The change was the result of a major overhaul of Grammy categories, announced in April 2011. The new category also recognizes other American roots forms, such as polka, whose own Grammy category was discontinued in 2009. In 2021, the category added the inclusion of Go Go music. Hawaiian musician Kalani Pe'a holds the record of most wins in the category with three. (en)
