- Gilsdorf (luxemburgisch Gilsdref) ist ein Ortsteil der luxemburgischen Gemeinde Bettendorf. Der Ort liegt im Tal der Sauer auf der Südseite des Flusses, der im Ort von einer etwa 90 Meter langen Brücke überspannt wird. Zwischen Fluss und Ort verlief die Anfang der 1960er Jahre stillgelegte Bahnstrecke von Ettelbrück nach Grevenmacher, an der Gilsdorf einen Haltepunkt besaß. Gilsdorf ist bekannt für den hochwertigen Sandstein, der in zahlreichen Steinbrüchen abgebaut wurde. Etliche bekannte Bauwerke wurden aus diesem Sandstein ausgeführt, darunter die Villa Louvigny oder auch die Adolphe-Brücke in der Stadt Luxemburg. Am 29. September 2006 heiratete in der Pfarrkirche von Gilsdorf der luxemburgische Prinz Louis seine Freundin Tessy Anthony. (de)
- Gilsdorf (Luxembourgish: Gilsdref) is a small town in the commune of Bettendorf, in north-eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 864. It is the town in which Prince Louis of Luxembourg married. While it was an unusual choice of venue for the wedding of a Prince of the ruling Grand Ducal family, it is supposed that its relative isolation from the City of Luxembourg proved to be a favourable factor. While the approach to media and publicity matters by the Grand Ducal family since the accession of Henri of Luxembourg in 2000 has varied markedly, it has been assumed that the presumed desire of the Grand Ducal family to avoid publicity, as far as possible, was a significant reason for the choice of Gilsdorf for the wedding.
