- Gilbert Guillaume (* 4. Dezember 1930 in Bois-Colombes/Frankreich) ist Völkerrechtler und war bis zum 11. Februar 2005 Mitglied des Internationalen Gerichtshofes. Nach dem Jura-Studium an der Universität Paris trat er als Jurist in den französischen Staatsdienst ein und war Mitglied vieler diplomatischer Delegationen Frankreichs. Auch in internationalen Organisationen wie der OSZE war Guillaume als Richter oder in leitender Funktion tätig. Von 1987 bis 2005 war er als Richter Internationalen Gerichtshof (IGH) in Den Haag tätig, an dem er von 2000 bis 2003 auch als Präsident fungierte. Anschließend wirkte er am IGH noch in mehreren Fällen als Ad-hoc-Richter. Guillaume war zudem Vorsitzender der französischen Sektion der International Law Association. (de)
- Gilbert Guillaume (born 4 December 1930) is a French jurist and judge who served as President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) from 2000 to 2003. He was a Judge of the ICJ between 1987 and 2005 and also previously served as a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) from 1980. A native of Bois-Colombes, Seine, Guillaume studied at Sciences Po and graduated from the École nationale d'administration in 1957. He was appointed a master of requests at the Conseil d'État before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Director of Juridicial Affairs in 1979. In 2007 he became a member of the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques, which he presided over in 2016, when he was awarded the Great Cross of the Legion of Honour. Guillaume is also a former member of the academic staff of Sciences Po, Paris. Gilbert Guillaume is the father of Marc Guillaume (born 1964), who was appointed Prefect of Paris in 2020. (en)

Studiował na Uniwersytecie w Paryżu oraz w Instytucie Nauk Politycznych w Paryżu i narodowej szkole administracji publicznej. Pracował jako urzędnik państwowy w resorcie spraw zagranicznych, wielokrotnie reprezentował Francję na konferencjach międzynarodowych, szczególnie poświęconych regulacjom międzynarodowego prawa lotniczego i morskiego. W latach 1979-1987 był dyrektorem departamentu prawnego Ministerstwa Spraw Zagranicznych. Pełnił m.in. funkcję delegata Francji w VI Komitecie (ds. problematyki prawnej) Zgromadzenia Ogólnego ONZ oraz szefa delegacji francuskiej na III Konferencję Narodów Zjednoczonych ds. Kodyfikacji Prawa Morza (Montego Bay, 1982). Od 1980 członek Stałego Trybunału Arbitrażowego, ponadto m.in. członek Trybunału Arbitrażowego OBWE, prezes oddziału francuskiego Stowarzyszenia Prawa Międzynarodowego, honorowy przewodniczący Francuskiego Towarzystwa Prawa Lotniczego i Prawa Kosmosu, członek Międzynarodowej Akademii Prawa Stosowanego i innych francuskich i zagranicznych stowarzyszeń naukowych. Kieruje Instytutem Prawa Lotniczego i Prawa Kosmosu Uniwersytetu w Leiden. Od 14 września 1987 był sędzią Międzynarodowego Trybunału Sprawiedliwości (zastąpił zmarłego sędziego ); został wybrany na kolejną kadencję w 1991 i 2000. Jego 9-letnia kadencja miała upłynąć w 2009, jednak zrezygnował z dalszego sprawowania mandatu sędziego w listopadzie 2004 (następca, sędzia Ronny Abraham, objął funkcję w lutym 2005). W latach 2000-2003 był przewodniczącym Trybunału. Kierował m.in. izbami ad hoc w sprawach sporów granicznych między Salwadorem i Hondurasem oraz Beninem i Nigrem. Jest autorem wielu publikacji naukowych poświęconych prawu międzynarodowemu, a także zjawisku terroryzmu w kontekście prawa międzynarodowego. Wydał m.in.
