- 22°42′37″N 30°30′17″E / 22.710278°N 30.504722°E جبل رملة، هي منطقة تقع في الصحراء الغربية بجنوب مصر. كانت هذه المنطقة محتلة طوال فترة العصر الحجري الحديث الأفريقي الرعوي. ركزت الأبحاث الأثرية بشكل أساسي على مواقع الدفن الفردية وستة مقابر رعوية وجعلتها في مقامها الأول، بما في ذلك أقدم مقبرة رُضّع معروفة في العالم. كانت مقابر جبل رملة نشطة خلال العصر الحجري الحديث الأخير في الألفية الخامسة قبل الميلاد وكشفت الحفريات المستمرة عن أكثر من 200 مقبرة بشرية ومرفقات جنائزية دقيقة. تم إجراء دراسات بحثية على الفخار وأصداف الرخويات وبقايا النباتات الأثرية وبقايا الهياكل العظمية الموجودة في جميع أنحاء المواقع. - Gebel Ramlah is a region in the Western Desert of southern Egypt that was occupied throughout the African Pastoral Neolithic. Archaeological research has focused primarily on individual burial sites and six pastoral cemeteries, including the earliest known infant cemetery in the world. The Gebel Ramlah cemeteries were active during the Final Neolithic in the fifth millennium BC. Ongoing excavation has uncovered over 200 human burials and elaborate grave goods. Research studies have been done on the pottery, mollusk shells, archaeobotanical remains, and skeletal remains found throughout the sites. (en)
