- Fuerte de San Pedro ist eine alte militärische Festung auf den Philippinen, beim Pierareal von Cebu City am Plaza de Independencia National Park. Sie ist sehr gut erhalten und gehört zu den ältesten Kolonialbauten auf den Philippinen. Mit 22.025 Quadratmetern gehört sie zu den kleineren ehemaligen spanischen Festungen auf dem Archipel. Die Festung wurde im Jahr 1565 von spanischen Soldaten errichtet. Diese sollte zum Schutz vor gewalttätigen Übergriffen durch einheimische und muslimische Piraten dienen. Der Bau erfolgte auf Befehl des damaligen Konquistadors Miguel López de Legazpi und der spanischen Regierung auf Cebu. Sie bestand ursprünglich aus einem Erdwall, wurde später aber aus Stein gebaut. Die Mauern sind ca. 2,5 Meter dick, 6 Meter hoch und die Türme am Eingangstor haben eine Höhe von ungefähr 9 Metern. Heute ist die Festung ein Museum, das zahlreiche gut erhaltene Artefakte aus der spanischen Kolonialzeit enthält, unter anderem spanischsprachige Dokumente, Münzen, Malereien, Skulpturen, Kanonen, eine Kapelle, ein Verlies, Wohnräume, Schlafräume, Schulräume und einen Garten. It served as the nucleus of the first Spanish settlement in the Philippines. - Fort San Pedro is een militair verdedigingsbouwwerk in de Filipijnse stad Cebu City. Het fort is aangelegd door de Spanjaarden met hulp van lokale Cebuano arbeiders tijdens het bewind van de Spaanse conquistador Miguel López de Legazpi. Het fort ligt in the Pier area aan wat nu Plaza Indepedencia heet. Het fort is het oudste, kleinste en best bewaarde koloniale fort in de Filipijnen. De eerste versie van het fort werd gebouwd van hout en aarde in 1565 en was bedoeld als bescherming tegen de gewelddadige aanvallen van lokale bewoners en de moslimpiraten die in het gebied opereerden. Daarna werd het fort verbeterd en versterkt met behulp van steen, waardoor de buitenmuren sterker werden. Het fort was pas in 1738 klaar na vele jaren van aanpassingen en verbeteringen. Tegenwoordig is het fort een museum. Er zijn diverse goed bewaarde overblijfselen uit de Spaanse tijd te vinden, zoals Spaanse documenten, oude Spaanse munten, door Spanjaarden gemaakte schilderijen en beelden. Daarnaast zijn in het fort kanonnen, een kapel, een gevangenis, woonkamers, slaapkamers, een klaslokaal en een binnentuin te bewonderen. Voor het fort staan twee grote standbeelden van Legazpi en Antonio Pigafetta.
