- Klášter Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire (často též Fleury-sur-Loire) je benediktinský klášter v v departementu Loiret v centrální Francii. Leží na řece Loiře, asi 160 km jižně od Paříže a asi 50 km východně od Orléans. Patřil mezi nejvýznamnější středověké kláštery a protože uchovává ostatky svatého Benedikta, byl i významným poutním místem, kam snad putoval i svatý Vojtěch. (cs)

- Unter dem Namen Fleury auch Abtei von Fleury, Lat.: S. Benedictus ad Ligerim, wurde die zwischen 630 und 650 gegründete Benediktinerabtei Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire oder Saint-Benoît-de-Fleury bekannt. Sie wird in der Literatur gelegentlich auch Fleury sur Loire genannt. Das Kloster liegt in der Ortschaft Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire bei Sully-sur-Loire an der Loire in Frankreich. - L’abbaye de Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire, plus exactement abbaye de Fleury, est une abbaye bénédictine qui se dresse sur le territoire de la commune française de Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire dans le département du Loiret en région Centre-Val de Loire. Le premier monastère fondé au Haut Moyen Âge en 651 est l'un des premiers en Gaule à vivre selon la règle de saint Benoît et les reliques de saint Benoît y sont transférées. Au début du XIe siècle, l'abbaye est un des centres culturels de l'Occident et rayonne alors grâce à son importante bibliothèque et son scriptorium. Après un incendie en 1026, l'église actuelle est reconstruite et sa tour-porche occupe une place importante au début de la période dominée par l'art roman, par la haute qualité des sculptures des chapiteaux. L'église abbatiale est classée aux monuments historiques. Le site est situé dans la partie est du val de Loire inscrite au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. (fr)

- De Abdij van Fleury in Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire in Centre-Val de Loire was een van de belangrijkste benedictijner abdijen in Frankrijk. De abdij werd gesticht rond het jaar 630, maar grote betekenis kreeg de abdij vooral nadat de monniken in 672 de relikwieën van Benedictus naar deze plaats overbrachten. Een van de bekendste abten was Theodulf, die begin negende eeuw tevens bisschop van Orléans was. In de 11e eeuw werd de abdij een belangrijk centrum van de Cluny-hervorming met geleerden als Abbo van Fleury (940-1004) en († 1030). Een andere bekende monnik van Fleury was Jocundus, die omstreeks 1075 in opdracht van het Sint-Servaaskapittel in Maastricht een nieuwe hagiografie van Sint-Servaas schreef. Gedurende de Franse Revolutie werden de monniken in 1791 gedwongen de abdij te verlaten, maar in het midden van de 19e eeuw namen ze opnieuw hun intrek in de abdij. De basiliek van de abdij in romaanse bouwstijl bevat in de crypte de relikwieën van Benedictus. In de crypte bevindt zich ook de tombe van koning Filips I van Frankrijk. De enorme poort-toren dateert uit de elfde eeuw en symboliseert met zijn twaalf toegangen het Nieuwe Jeruzalem. Het klooster is ook nu nog in gebruik. De middeleeuwse handschriften zijn verspreid geraakt over tientallen bibliotheken. De Nederlandse mediëvist wist een groot aantal van deze handschriften op te sporen en zo een beeld te reconstrueren van de inhoud van een middeleeuwse kloosterbibliotheek. (nl)
