- Der 7. Eurovision Young Dancers fand am 11. Juni 1997 im Teatr Muzyczny, in Gdynia in Polen statt. Ausrichter war TVP, welches erstmals mit der Austragung eines Eurovision Young Dancers beauftragt wurde. Sieger wurde der spanische Tänzer Antonio Carmena San José mit dem Tanz Angelitos Locos. Es war der bereits fünfte Sieg von Spanien im Wettbewerb und der vierte in Folge. Damit hält Spanien bis heute einen Rekord. Schließlich konnte kein anderes Land eine Eurovision-Veranstaltung vier Mal in Folge gewinnen. Platz 2 belegte der belgische Tänzer Alain Honorez, während Platz 3 vom schwedischen Tänzer Tim Matiakis belegt wurde. Damit bestand die Top 3 aus den gleichen Ländern wie bereits 1995. (de)
- The Eurovision Young Dancers 1997 was the seventh edition of the Eurovision Young Dancers, held at the Teatr Muzyczny in Gdynia, Poland on 17 June 1997. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP), dancers from seven countries participated in the televised final. A total of thirteen countries took part in the competition. Latvia and Slovakia made their début while five countries (Austria, France, Norway, Russia and Switzerland) withdrew from the contest. However, France, Switzerland and Norway broadcast the event and, for the first time, Ireland. The participant countries could send one or two dancers, male or female, who performed one or two dances. The semi-final took place six days before the final (11 June 1997). The non-qualified countries were, Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary and Slovenia. Spain, with , won the contest for a 5th time (4th in a row) with Belgium and Sweden placing second and third respectively. (en)
- La VII edición del Festival de Eurovisión de Jóvenes Bailarines se celebró en Gdansk (Polonia) el 17 de junio de 1997. Los presentadores de esta edición fueron y . Un total de 13 países participaron en esta edición del festival. Noruega y Suiza fueron dos de los cuatro países que se retiraron, sin embargo decidieron emitir el certamen en sus respectivas televisiones. La televisión de Irlanda, también retransmitió el evento, por primera vez pese a no participar. España sigue acumulando más victorias, la cuarta consecutiva, y continúa siendo el mejor país del certamen y el único que ha ganado más de una vez, consiguiendo en esta edición su quinto triunfo.
