- وحدة الاستجابة للطوارئ هو اسم لوحدة حكومية في الغالب مسؤولة عن فرض القانون عسكرياً وبقابلية الأسلحة والتكتيكات الخاصة، أو هي جهة حكومية مدنية مدربة ومجهزة للاستجابة السريعة للحالات الطارئة مثل الكوارث الطبيعية. ومن الأمثلة على قوات الرد السريع في دول العالم:
* وحدة الاستجابة للطوارئ غاردا (Garda Emergency Response Unit) وهي تابعة للشرطة الإيرلندية الوطنية.
* وحدة الاستجابة للطوارئ (النرويج) وهي تابعة للشرطة النرويجية.
* وحدة الاستجابة للطوارئ (آي أف آر سي) (Emergency Response Unit (IFRC وهي فرق مدربة من متطوعين مختصين من الاتحاد الدولي لجمعيات الصليب الأحمر والهلال الأحمر.
* وحدة الاستجابة للطوارئ (قبرص) قسم تابع لشرطة قبرص.
* وحدة الاستجابة للطوارئ (العراق) وهناك قوتان إحداهما تابعة للشرطة العراقية والأخرى لوزارة الدفاع العراقية.
