- قواعد المصرية: كونها مقدمة لدراسة الهيروغليفيةكتاب كتبه آلن گارِدنَر ونُشر لأول مرة في 1927 في لندن من قبل مطبعة كلارندون، وأُعيد طبعه عدة مرات منذ ذلك الحين. الطبعة الثالثة المنشورة في 1957 هي النسخة الأكثر استخدامًا منه. من خلال سلسلة من ثلاثة وثلاثين درسًا، يُقدِّم الكتاب نظرة عامة شاملة للغاية عن اللغة ونظام الكتابة في مصر القديمة. يركِّز الكتاب على اللغة الأدبية للمملكة الوسطى. أدى إنشاء الكتاب إلى تطوير مجموعة طباعة هيروغليفية دقيقة ومفصلة: قائمة گاردنر للإشارات . يُعتبر عمل غاردينر حتى يومنا هذا أكثر الكتب المدرسية شمولاً للغة المصرية، على الرغم من أن التطورات اللاحقة أضافت جوانب جديدة لفهم گاردنر لقواعد اللغة المصرية. - Egyptian Grammar: Being an Introduction to the Study of Hieroglyphs was written by Alan Gardiner and first published in 1927 in London by the Clarendon Press. It has been reprinted several times since. The third edition published in 1957 is the most widely used version for the subject. Through a series of thirty-three lessons, the book gives a very thorough overview of the language and writing system of Ancient Egypt. The focus of the book is the literary language of the Middle Kingdom. The creation of the book resulted in the development of an accurate and detailed hieroglyphic typeset, Gardiner's Sign List. Gardiner's work is considered to this day to be the most thorough textbook of the Egyptian language in existence, although subsequent developments have supplanted a number of aspects of Gardiner's understanding of Egyptian grammar, particularly with regard to the verbal system. - Egyptian Grammar: Being an Introduction to the Study of Hieroglyphs è una grammatica didattica della lingua egizia scritta da Alan Gardiner e pubblicata per la prima volta nel 1927 (II edizione 1950; III e ultima edizione, tuttora ristampata, 1957) dalla Oxford University Press. Si compone di 33 lezioni sulla lingua e il sistema di scrittura dell'Antico Egitto, limitatamente alla lingua letteraria del Medio Regno, considerata già dagli Egizi stessi la lingua classica per eccellenza e quindi utilizzata come "lingua di tradizione", specialmente per i monumenti, anche nelle epoche successive della storia egizia. È forse la più approfondita grammatica del medio egizio ed è stata il mezzo di apprendimento della lingua più diffuso per circa sessant'anni, cioè fino alla diffusione degli studi sul verbo egizio di Hans Jakob Polotsky, la cosiddetta teoria standard, che furono di particolare rilevanza nella progressione della ricerca linguistica; pur conservando ancora una certa utilità, soprattutto per la morfologia nominale e la lista di simboli, alla luce della attuale conoscenza della lingua appare oggi piuttosto datata per quanto riguarda le sezioni dedicate al verbo, in quanto precedente gli studi di Polotsky. Di particolare importanza per la catalogazione dei segni è la lista di simboli (circa 700, conosciuti come Lista di Gardiner) contenuta nel volume, ancora oggi lista di riferimento per la lingua del Medio Regno. Foi reimpresso várias vezes desde então. Sua terceira edição, publicada em 1957, é a versão mais utilizada para o assunto. Por meio de uma série de trinta e três lições, o livro oferece uma visão consideravelmente ampla da linguagem e do sistema de escrita do Antigo Egito. O foco do livro é a linguagem literária do Império Médio. A criação do livro resultou no desenvolvimento de uma tipografia hieroglífica precisa e detalhada, a Lista de Sinais de Gardiner. É considerado, ainda hoje, o livro mais minucioso existente de língua egípcia, embora desenvolvimentos subsequentes tenham suplantado diversos aspectos da compreensão de Gardiner acerca da gramática egípcia, sobretudo no que diz respeito ao sistema verbal.
