- Strappo és un mot italià que dona nom a la tècnica d'arrencament de la superfície cromàtica d'una pintura mural, amb la qual s'aconsegueix separar la pel·lícula que forma la pintura de l'arrebossat del mur posterior on es troba. Aquest trasllat s'ha realitzat des de l'antiguitat. Vitruvi va relatar com l'any 59 aC., algunes pintures havien estat tretes de murs tallant els maons i col·locades en marcs de fusta per ser portades al Comitium a Roma. L'arqueòleg Amedeo Maiuri va trobar pintures murals en bastidors de fusta a les excavacions a Pompeia, com a precursor de l'extracció, quasi massiva en època més moderna, que va començar a efectuar-se a partir dels segles xviii i xix, de vegades amb fins especulatius per part de col·leccionistes particulars. - Die Abnahme oder Ablösung von Wandmalereien ist eine Restaurierungstechnik, bei der eine Wandmalerei aus ihrem architektonischen Kontext ausgebaut wird, um sie bei Gefährdungen oder Beschädigungen in situ durch die Übertragung auf einen neuen Bildträger zu sichern und zu erhalten. Allerdings handelt es sich dabei immer um einen schweren Eingriff, der mit mehr oder weniger Substanzverlust verbunden ist und zu dem man sich als ultima ratio nur entschließen sollte, wenn keine andere Möglichkeit besteht. - The detachment of wall paintings involves the removal of a wall painting from the structure of which it formed part. While detachment was once a common practice, the preservation of art in situ is now preferred, and detachment is now largely restricted to cases where the only alternative is total loss. According to the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS): "Detachment and transfer are dangerous, drastic and irreversible operations that severely affect the physical composition, material structure and aesthetic characteristics of wall paintings. These operations are, therefore, only justifiable in extreme cases when all options of in situ treatment are not viable. Should such situations occur, decisions involving detachment and transfer should always be taken by a team of professionals, rather than by the individual who is carrying out the conservation work. Detached paintings should be replaced in their original location whenever possible. Special measures should be taken for the protection and maintenance of detached paintings, and for the prevention of their theft and dispersion. The application of a covering layer concealing an existing decoration, carried out with the intention of preventing damage or destruction by exposure to an inhospitable environment, should be executed with materials compatible with the wall painting, and in a way that will permit future uncovering. - El strappo es una palabra italiana que da nombre a la técnica de arranque de la superficie cromática de una pintura mural, con la que se consigue separar la película que forma la pintura del rebozado del muro posterior donde se encuentra. Este traslado se ha realizado desde la antigüedad. Vitruvio relató cómo en el año 59 aC., algunas pinturas habían sido sacadas de muros cortando los ladrillos y colocadas en marcos de madera para ser llevadas al Comitium a Roma. El arqueólogo Amedeo Maiuri encontró pinturas murales en bastidores de madera en las excavaciones en Pompeya, como precursor de la extracción, casi masiva en época más moderna, que comenzó a efectuarse a partir de los siglos XVIII y XIX, a veces con fines especulativos por parte de coleccionistas particulares. - Lo strappo, come il massello o lo stacco, sono tecniche di rimozione di un affresco dalla parete originaria quando serve portarla ad un'altra collocazione. La rimozione di un affresco è una scelta importante che va valutata e che richiede l'autorizzazione della Sovrintendenza dei beni artistici, necessaria per ogni tipo di affresco, anche per quelli coperti e poco visibili.
