- Από το 2004, η Ουρουγουάη ακολουθεί την θερινή ώρα.Ξεκινώντας από το 2006, η θερινή ώρα ξεκινάει την πρώτη Κυριακή του Οκτώβρη και τελειώνει την δεύτερη Κυριακή του Μαρτίου. Η ζώνη ώρας αλλάζει από την UTC-3 στην UTC-2. Στις 30 Ιουνίου 2015 η Ουρουγουανή κυβέρνηση αποφάσισε να αφαιρέσει την θερινή ώρα από αυτό το έτος βάζοντας την χώρα στην ζώνη UTC−3 όλο τον χρόνο. (el)
- Since 2004, Uruguay had usually observed daylight saving time. Starting in 2006, DST begins on the first Sunday in October and ends on the second Sunday in March of every year.Time zone changed from Standard Time Zone UTC−03:00 to UTC−02:00. On 30 June 2015 however, Uruguayan government decided to abolish DST from this year putting the country in UTC−03:00 throughout the 2015-2016 Summer. In September 2016 the president issued the same decision for that year, keeping the country in UTC−03:00 during the 2016-2017 Summer also. There is some discussion/concern over the lack of clarity as to the state of summer time in future years. (en)
- Históricamente el horario de verano en Uruguay fue un recurso utilizado durante varios períodos del siglo XX y principios del siglo XXI principalmente como medio para ahorrar energía, ya fuera por el costo del consumo de combustible o por sequías que reducían a niveles críticos el agua de los embalses repercutiendo en la generación hidroeléctrica de energía. También se utilizó como medio de coordinación horaria y turística con los países de la región. En el año 2015 el gobierno de turno decidió cesar definitivamente el uso del horario de verano, por lo cual la hora legal del país permanece desde entonces en la zona horaria UTC-03:00 durante todo el año.
