- The Curtatone class were a group of destroyers built for the Royal Italian Navy. They were the first destroyers to be built in Italy after the end of World War I, and were the first ships of this type to use twin rather than single mountings. The ships were originally ordered at the same time as the Palestro-class destroyers, but were postponed due to steel shortages. The opportunity was taken to modify the design to incorporate experience and lengthen the ships by 4.5 metres (14 ft 9 in). The ships were later modernized for escort duties with the twin guns being replaced by singles and the triple 450-millimetre (18 in) torpedo tubes replaced by twin 533 mm (21.0 in) torpedo tubes. Extra light anti-aircraft guns were also fitted and the 76 mm (3.0 in)/40 caliber guns removed. (en)
- Die Curtatone-Klasse war eine Klasse von vier Zerstörern der italienischen Marine. Die 1923/24 fertiggestellten Schiffe ähnelten den von derselben Werft bis 1923 gebauten Schiffen der Palestro-Klasse. Die Einheiten der Curtatone-Klasse waren nach Schlachten der Italienischen Unabhängigkeitskriege benannt worden.1938 zu Torpedobooten umklassifiziert, kamen sie im Zweiten Weltkrieg vorrangig im Geleitdienst zum Einsatz. Dabei ging am 20. Mai 1941 die Curtatone durch einen Minentreffer verloren. Nach der italienischen Kapitulation gelangten die Calatafimi und die Castelfidardo in den Dienst der Kriegsmarine, die sie als TA 19 und TA 16 einsetzte.Nur die Monzambano überstand den Krieg und schied erst am 15. April 1951 aus dem Dienst der italienischen Marine aus. (de)

- La classe Curtatone di quattro cacciatorpediniere di squadra fu la prima costruita dal Regno d'Italia dopo la fine della prima guerra mondiale. Le navi furono declassate nel 1938 a torpediniere. La prima unità fu impostata nel 1920, in seguito a modifiche apportate ai progetti della classe Palestro. In particolare venne allungato lo scafo, permettendo di aumentare la velocità massima, a scapito, tuttavia, della manovrabilità. Rispetto alle classe precedenti ci furono evoluzioni nell'armamento: sulle navi della classe Curtatone vennero per la prima volta installati dei sistemi binati di artiglieria e degli impianti lanciasiluri trinati. Dopo il 1930 ebbero il fumaiolo prodiero rialzato. Nel 1940 i pezzi da 76 furono sostituiti con 4 da 20 e 2 da 8. (it)

W 1938 roku okręty zostały przeklasyfikowane na torpedowce. Okręty były wykorzystywane podczas II wojny światowej. Okręt "Curtatone" zatonął w 1941 roku, po wpłynięciu na minę w pobliżu Aten. "Castelfidardo" i "Calatafimi" zostały w 1943 roku zdobyte przez Niemców i wcielone do Kriegsmarine. Oba okręty zatonęły w 1944 roku na Morzu Egejskim.
