- Contra III: The Alien Wars is a 1992 run and gun video game developed and published by Konami for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It is the third home console entry in the Contra series after Contra (1988) and Super C (1990) for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). In PAL regions, it was retitled Super Probotector: Alien Rebels and the player characters were replaced with robots. The player is tasked with fighting off an alien invasion of Earth across six stages. Four stages feature side-scrolling action traditional to the series while two are presented from an overhead perspective. It is the first Contra title to have been directed by Nobuya Nakazato who later directed other games in the series. He designed Contra III to feature more comical elements, a more cinematic soundtrack, and tighter stage design than its predecessors. Contra III received positive reviews, with critics praising its arcade quality derived from its sound and visual design. It has been called one of the best Contra games in retrospective reviews. It was ported to the Game Boy as Contra: The Alien Wars (1994) by Factor 5 where it received positive reviews for its Super Game Boy enhancements. Konami also released a Game Boy Advance port titled Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX (2002) which received more critical reviews for removing features in the original. - Contra III: Aliens Wars, é um jogo do console SNES, lançado em 1992 no Japão como Contra Spirits (魂斗羅スピリッツ, Kontora Supirittsu) é o terceiro jogo da série Contra da Konami. Foi portado para o Game Boy e Game Boy Advance e lançado para o Virtual Console do Wii em janeiro de 2007. Famoso game do console SNES. O jogo se passa no ano de 2636, dois anos depois dos acontecimentos de Super Contra. Os protagonistas Bill Rizer e Lance Bean são chamados mais uma vez, contra uma invasão alienígena.Aproveitando da tecnologia do Super NES, neste jogo os gráficos são melhorados em relação aos jogos anteriores. É considerado por muitos o melhor jogo da série Contra. O jogo está dividido em seis niveis, com um chefe no final de cada. Contra III: The Alien Wars mantém a tradição da série, alternando entre fases onde a visão é lateral (Side-scrolling) e outras onde a visão que se tem da tela é como se o jogador a estivesse sobrevoando. Há três níveis de dificuldade no jogo — fácil, normal, e díficil. Na versão japonesa do jogo, cada nível de dificuldade vencido mostra um final diferente, na versão americana o final só é mostrado após se vencer o jogo na dificuldade díficil. A trilha sonora instrumental do jogo, composta por Miki Higashino, Masanori Adachi e Tappy Iwase, também é muito celebrada pelos fãs da série Contra como uma das melhores já compostas para um jogo da franquia. Det är en PAL-regionens konvertering av det spel som i Japan heter Contra Spirits (魂斗羅スピリッツ Kontora Supirittsu?) och i Nordamerika som Contra III: The Alien Wars, där man spelar som två mänskliga kommandosoldater istället för två robotar. Den futuristiska handlingen, med utomjordisk invasion, behölls dock även i den nordamerikanska varianten. Spelet har sex banor, varav två av dem spelas från en vinkel uppifrån. De fyra andra banorna är sidoscrollade, från vänster till höger, med lite olika plattformsmoment. I grundarsenalet finns bara en kulspruta som skjuter runda små kulor. Vapnet uppgraderas med hjälp av föremål som kommer flygande vid särskilda platser på varje bana. Det går att byta mellan två olika vapen. Spelet innehåller fem olika bossar, samt tre minibossar. Spelar man ensam använder man den grå roboten, och är man två tillkommer en röd robot som spelare två använder. (sv)
