- حزب العمل الشيوعي هو حزب يساري سوري معارض تأسّس في منتصف السبعينات تحت اسم رابطة العمل الشيوعي ثم تحول إلى حزب العمل الشيوعي.من أبرز أعضائه عبد العزيز الخير وفاتح جاموس وأصلان عبد الكريم الذين نشطوا سرًا في عقد الثمانينات، وقمعهم نظام الرئيس حافظ الأسد بشدة ثم استمرّ مسلسل القمع طيلة عهد الأسد الابن. بتاريخ يوم الخميس الموافق لـ 21 أيار/مايو 2009 أقدمت دورية أمنية من فرع الأمن السياسي في محافظة حماة على مداهمة منزل الناشط توفيق عمران في الصبورة-محافظة حماه وقامت باعتقال المواطنين التالية أسمائهم وذلك دون مذكرة قانونية وهم:
* حسن زهرة (أبو عصام) وُلدَ في السلمية عام 1946، هو رجل أعمال. يعاني من عدة أمراض وبات اليوم مُعْتِقَلْ سياسي سابق بتهمة الانتماء لحزب العمل الشيوعي في سورية ما بين عام 1978 – 1980 وكان قد أفرج عنه بسبب مرض عضال بموجب العفو الرئاسي وفق المرسوم التشريعي رقم 22 القاضي بمنح عفو عام عن الجرائم المرتكبة قبل 23 فبراير 2010.
* عباس عباس (أبو حسين) من مواليد عام 1945، رجل أعمال ولديه ثلاثة أطفال صغار ولا يوجد أي معيل لعائلته غيره. باتَ اليوم معتقل سياسي سابق منذ عام 1978 – 1980 وذلك بتهمة الانتماء لرابطة العمل الشيوعي.
* أحمد يوسف النيحاوي من أهالي وسكان منطقة الغاب التابعة لمحافظة حماه من مواليد 1963، متزوج ولديه ثلاثة أولاد وهو المعيل الوحيد لأسرته. بات معتقلا سياسيًا سابقًا بعدما قضى ثماني سنوات في السجن بتهمة الانتماء لحزب العمل الشيوعي في سورية.
* غسان أحمد حسن «الزاورجي» ولد عام 1967 من أهالي وسكان منطقة سلحب التابعة لمحافظة حماه، ولديه طفلين وهو كذلك المعيل الوحيد لأسرته. يُعدّ معتقلا سياسيا سابقا بتهمة الانتماء لحزب العمل الشيوعي في سورية.
* توفيق عمران من مواليد 1950 مقيم في الصبورة، لديه ستة أولاد وهو المعيل الوحيد لأسرته. معتقل سياسي سابق بتهمة الانتماء لحزب العمل الشيوعي في سورية. (ar)
- Die Kommunistische Aktionspartei (arabisch حزب العمل الشيوعي, DMG Ḥizb al-ʿAmal aš-Šuyūʿī) ist eine linke politische Partei in Syrien, die 1976 unter dem Namen Liga für Kommunistische Aktion als Abspaltung von der Syrischen Kommunistischen Partei gegründet wurde. Die von Anfang an illegale Partei benannte sich am 6. August 1981 in Kommunistische Arbeitspartei um. Darin organisieren sich hauptsächlich Studenten und Intellektuelle, viele ihrer Mitglieder sind Alawiten. Nach Aussage von Menschenrechtsorganisationen betätigte sie sich ausschließlich gewaltfrei; gemäß dem Blog „AngryArab News Service“ kämpfte sie zunächst auch mit Waffen gegen die Regierung. Ihre Mitglieder wurden von Anfang an eingeschüchtert, viele wurden inhaftiert. Die Verfolgung war besonders heftig, weil viele Alawiten darunter waren. 1992 wurde sie durch eine großangelegte Verhaftungsaktion zerschlagen, viele ihrer Mitglieder wurden vom Obersten Staatssicherheitsgericht Syriens zu langjährigen Haftstrafen verurteilt. Ihr Generalsekretär war fast 20 Jahre lang inhaftiert, 14 Jahre und 13 Jahre lang. 2003 wurde sie wiedergegründet. Sie schloss sich 2006 dem „Nationalen Demokratischen Zusammenschluss“ und 2007 dem Bündnis „Marxistische Linke Sammlung“ an. Mehrere ihrer Mitglieder, so Monder Chaddam und Abdelasis al-Chair, waren an der Gründung des Nationalen Koordinationskomitees für demokratischen Wandels (NCB) beteiligt. Im syrischen Bürgerkrieg wendet sie sich gegen Bewaffnung der Opposition und ausländische Militärinterventionen, sie plädiert für einen Dialog mit der Regierung Assads und unterstützte den Friedensplan des UNO-Vermittlers Kofi Annan. Ihre politischen Ziele für Syrien sind freie Wahlen, Gewaltenteilung, eine säkulare, demokratische Regierung, Rede- und Versammlungsfreiheit und gleiche Rechte für alle Staatsbürger. Abdelasis al-Chair wurde am 21. September 2012 an einer Straßensperre in Damaskus verhaftet, nachdem er von Verhandlungen mit der chinesischen Führung nach Syrien zurückkehrte. - The Communist Action Party (Arabic: حزب العمل الشيوعي Hizb Al-'Amal Al-Shuyu'iy) is a Syrian communist party active in the 1980s and early 1990s. The party, a Marxist–Leninist splinter group from the Syrian Communist Party, was first formed in August 1976 as the "League for Communist Action," and was renamed to "Syrian communist Action Party" on 6 August 1981. The party, banned by the government of Syria since its establishment, was victim to a number of crackdowns, where 200 of its members were arrested in 1986 alone. 21 members were sentenced by the Supreme State Security Court for "membership in a secret organization created to change the economic or social structure of the state". Amnesty International protested on behalf of the prisoners. The party continued to secretly distribute its publications–ar-Raya al-Hamra'a ("The Red Banner"), ash-Shyu'i ("The Communist"), al-Brulitari ("The Proletarian")–until 1991. On 6 August 2003, the party announced its return to the political scene in a statement, followed by a new publication called al-An ("Now"). The party is led by Fateh Jamous, who was imprisoned between 1982 and 2000. He was again arrested in 2006. The party worked with a Palestinian dissident group, called the Palestinian Popular Committees, in the Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus. The group was founded in 1983. The Palestinian Popular Committees were disbanded in 1985, as a campaign of arrests was launched against the Syrian party. One of the sentenced activists of the party, Tuhama Mahmoud Ma'rouf, received a suspended sentence in 1995, only to be rearrested and ordered to begin serving her sentence in 2010 for unknown reasons. In February 2011, she began a hunger strike protesting the conditions of her detainment at Adra prison. She was released on 20 June of that year in a mass presidential amnesty for political dissidents. Since the beginning of the Syrian Civil War, the party has aligned itself with the Syrian Opposition, operating within its territory and political system.
