Coast Guard Base Alameda also referred to as Coast Guard Island is an artificial island in the Oakland Estuary between Oakland and Alameda, California. It is home to several major United States Coast Guard commands and cutters, including the Coast Guard Pacific Area. It is one of the largest Coast Guard bases on the West Coast. From 1942 until 1982, the island was the site of the Coast Guard's recruiting training center (boot camp), enlisting and training hundreds of thousands of Coast Guardsmen including many of the 214,239 who served in the Pacific and European Theaters of World War II.

Die Insel wird seit 1926 von der amerikanischen Küstenwache United States Coast Guard genutzt, heute fast ausschließlich von dieser. Der Zutritt ist daher für die Öffentlichkeit untersagt. Auf der Insel befinden sich mehrere Dienststellen des Militärs und der Öffentlichen (Zivil-)Verwaltung, beispielsweise die Pacific Commander Station (U.S. Coast Guard District Eleven), Ausbildungsstätten und Unterkünfte der Küstenwache, zwei Militärkrankenhäuser, ein Seehafen für seegängige Schiffe der Küstenwache sowie das San Francisco Marine Safety Office. Derzeit ist Coast Guard Island Heimathafen der Schiffe (High Endurance Cutter) USCGC Boutwell (WHEC-719), USCGC Morgenthau (WHEC-722) und USCGC Sherman (WHEC-720). (de)
