Ia menikah dengan dua orang wanita yaitu dan . Spaak mulai bekerja di perfilm pada tahun 1928. Kemudian menulis Skenario terbaiknya berkolaborasi dengan sutradara film. Spaak bekerja dengan Jacques Feyder pada The New Gentlemen (1929), Le Grand Jeu (1934), Pension Mimosa (1934), dan Karnaval di Flanders pada tahun 1935. Dengan Jean Renoir dia menulis skenario untuk Grand Illusion (1937) dan The Lower Depths (1936; dengan EI Zamiatin dan J. Companeez; diadaptasi dari drama Gorky). Kemudian Spaak juga bekerja sama dengan J. Duvivier pada film Were Lima (1936) dan The End of Day (1939), dan dengan M. Carne pada film Thérèse Raquin (1953; diadaptasi dari novel karya Zola). Spaak berkolaborasi dengan KM Simonov dan E. Triolet pada skenario di Prancis dan di Uni Soviet, yaitu pada film Normandy-Nieman (1960). Kemudian Ia juga berkolaborasi dengan A. Cayatte dengan judul Justice Is Done (1950), We Are All Murderers (1952), Before the Deluge (1953), dan The Black Dossier (1955). Spaak juga menulis the memoirs My 31 Marriages (1946) dan novel Storming satir dari Bastille (1962; dengan M. Pons). (in)
